Unfortunately the Jazz beating the Hornets a few days ago all but eliminated any chance of them falling to 8. We really need New Orleans to turn it on and win every game except the one against the Rockets. Just so they stay ahead of the Jazz. Rockets have a slim chance to get that 2 spot, and would need Denver to drop 2 of their last 3. Why do I get the feeling that the Jazz will play that last game in order to get the Rockets in the play-offs. If they need a win, they will come out guns blazing. If they need a loss, they will likely have starters resting. Sacremento plays 3 upper play-off teams and could knock someone down. Hopefully it will be the Spurs but maybe they will beat Denver. Too bad its on the 2nd night of a back to back and its in Denver. Might beat the Spurs, especially since its a home game.
I really don't want to see Utah in the first round, but I think that Houston is not the type of team that can just turn it on.. I think Houston(especially Yao) is more of a rhythm team that performs very well when clicking, but seems out of place when not. So IMO the Rockets must look to gel and improve their overall play and consistency over the last few games and let the cards fall where they do..
well let's see, Lakers are just 1 loss behind the Cavs so if Lakers win all their games leading up to their last game on the 14th, they would still have an incentive to win that game with the hope that the Cavs could potentially lose their last game, which is a day after, on the 15th? Right?
According to Hollinger the division leader rule was into effect for this season. It's good to get confirmation.
Hollinger is wrong about 1 thing. LA should not be playing its scrubs against Utah on April 14. LA needs to win b/c Cleveland hosts Philadelphia on April 15. If Cleveland somehow loses to Philly, LA would then get the tiebreak (2-0 head to head vs CLE) and HCA for the rest of the year. The real question is whether Utah tries to dump the game to get the Rockets. Thank goodness that we get final say, b/c we play at Dallas on April 15. We will have a very good idea of what seed Utah will have.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I know there was some questions about this on some other threads. Hollinger is pretty reliable.
If we lose to Utah again I am going to hang myself. Well probably shoot myself due to lack of rope and tall structures.
He had a few small schedule errors in there. 1) The HOU-DAL game is in Dallas, not Houston and the HOU-NO game is in Houston, not New Orleans.
Well if we get the Jazz in the first round it is good for me and bad for me all at the same time. Good for me because....I put money on it in Vegas for my 21st birthday back in September that the Rockets and Jazz would meet in the 1st round again... 100 dollars on 13 to 1 odds. Could be the only good decision i made during my week there. Bad for me because....Its the freaking Jazz and I got banned from the BBS on 2 separate occations because of my angry rants about the Jazz this year, and those were Regular Season games!.... Looks like I might need to start thinking of names for a new account pretty soon if things work out like StatGuru thinks they will.
100 dollars on 13 to 1 odds? I'd be rooting to meet the jazz. If we got our payback and actually beat them, it'd be a double win for you.
I think when you look at it, Its a complete toss-up this next week to decide playoff seedings. But If the rockets catch a break and land at number 3 and Utah falls to 8, the only legitamate obstacle standing between a rockets-lakers WCF is an old and injured Spurs team. I have no doubt the Rockets can handle either the Blazers or the Hornets in a 7 game series. That would make for a VERY successfull season regardless of how it ends.
