I'm just starting out in web design, and I need to build up my fairly thin portfolio. For that reason, I'm looking to do some pro bono work. Now, I'm not saying that I'll build an expansive, interactive web site for nothing. I don't have the time or resources to do that.

What I'm looking to do is build some small sites, like maybe online portfolio type sites, galleries (for you photos or art, etc.) or a place where you can advertise your services if you have a small business or something like that. It could really be anything as long as it's fairly simple.

All I would ask is that you pay the hosting costs which is easily just $6 or $7 a month for the kind of site you'd be looking at. On the plus side, you wouldn't even have to pay to host it until you're happy with the offline design and it's otherwise free work, so there's not much to lose.

Because this process would involve money (albeit a small amount) I want to say that there are numerous posters that know me personally and can vouch for me that this is nothing shady. I'm strictly in it for the experience and to build my portfolio, and I figured I could help some Clutchfans friends in the process. And for those who are fans of the Rockets videos I post here, you know that I put a lot of effort into my work even when I do it for free

So, if anyone is interested just shoot me an e-mail and let me know what you have in mind.

Thanks.

I've always had the dream of building a site dedicated to midgets. I mean like pictures of midgets. Stories of midgets. Pictures of midgets having fun. Jokes and other fun facts about midgets. For example how tall you have to be to be qualified as a midget. Also a section about famous midgets and an inspirational section for midget youth to look up to when they grow up.

I know CSS, but I have to say no to the other 3. I'm a designer, not a developer, and I'm just looking to churn out some simple projects to get me off the ground. I mostly work with the Adobe CS3 suite, Corel X4 and PaintShop Pro. I write my own XHTML and CSS from scratch in WordPad. I know a little JavaScript but I'm definitely still learning.

I admit I'm wet behind the ears, but I have to start somewhere and that's why I made this thread

Good stuff man. I recommend using http://www.webmonkey.com/ as a resource. It is extremely helpful.

Best of luck man

I might be interested. I've partnered up with another investor, and we're mulling though a website design.

I'll e-mail you.

I have done Web Design for small companies off and on, and have an extensive portfolio. At work, I am a Unix/Linux administrator, but I find some time to do this on the side. I do HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, PERL, and some ASP.

Shoot me an email, Mr. Returns, and I will show you some of my sites so you can critique them (I am not afraid of being criticized, but I would like your honest opinion also). I can give you some help or advice if I have the time.

Right now, I am working DOUBLE TIME on a client's site, but I have the design almost completed, all I got left is the programming for various components left.

Good luck on your stuff that's what she said, sir!

I've done a couple of sites since I made this thread, including one for a member here, and now my services are available again.

Any takers?

If you are still looking for anything I have been working on a website for my brother who is starting up a business... I have not made a site for years after doing some design work myself a while back and really found I can't remember to do half the stuff. Anyways if you are interested the site is basically made but I am not happy with the look and really don't have the time to try and work on something better, if you are interested you are welcome to try and make it look a bit better... its already got hosting and a domain.

I'm interested. I need something for my small business. It would basically show the services that I provide and give me a web presence. I see it as sort of a web resume. Email me through the board.

This probably isn't your cup of tea, but I'd like to start an online blog for my students to get homework assignments and find resources. Now, I know I could make my own, but I've looked at other teachers' pages, and I'm not impressed. I couldn't do any better though...I have no background in web design.

I'm not sure how this would work with your portfolio though

Well...if you're interested, let me know.
