damnit, this thread is about Vanessa Hudgens movie. Not pretend to be fatty fatbastard and emebed random youtube videos that no one will click.
I thought it was going to be like that 80s movie "Body Slam". "M. Harry Smilac is a down-on-his-luck music manager who is having a hard time attracting talent and booking gigs for his band, Kicks (The most recent of the gigs is a Dairy Queen opening!!). When making arrangements for a campaign fund-raiser, he mistakes Rick Roberts, a professional wrestler, for a musician and hires him. At that moment he becomes a wrestling manager and starts to book matches for him and his teammate Tonga Tom. The team is a success, and Harry decides to take his wrestlers and his band on a "Rock n' Wrestling" tour. The tour is a success, and Harry feels what it is like to be a winner again." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092684/
I find this pic creepy for some reason. Maybe because her right eye is almost completely black and here left one is close too.

Full Trailer. HAWWWT. <3 Vanessa.
I might be bias, but I thought the movie was damn good. If you're an indie music snob, you might just appreciate it. You may already have preconceived notions about this film just because it has High School Musical star, Vanessa Hudgens in it. That is fine... I guess. I apologize on her behalf for being in other movies. The music isn't bad if you like ska. They have a ska sound to them. Plenty of funny moments. Somethings were kinda predictable. Other than that, I would recommend it. I have a good feeling this could be one of those movies that may not get alot of run initaially, but through word of mouth it may get some mo. I felt bad (ok, i didn't) about the kids that were in the theather, who probably didn't pick up on the music name dropping. They probably had no clue. Also, If you like David Bowie, you'll like it at the end.
it was free. it helped. it's not a disney film. it has nothing to do with the mouse. Rambo wasn't about a boxer who shot guns.
So, about 10 years I was in a band, a ska band no less, that made the national finals of the 2nd Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands. Won the semis in Long Beach and came in 3rd in the finals in Hollywood. Still got to do quite a few warped tour shows though. Watching the trailer reminded me of that. Sadly, I doubt the movie accurately portrays the reality of playing in a band, developing a sound, or competing in a competition at the highest level.
