Why do we run this in every potential game tying/winning situation?

Maybe because we have a bunch of chickens with head cut off on the court?

We can also throw in the other perfect defensive play, sub chuck for Yao (instead of Deke for Yao or leaving Yao in) and hope for them not to drive and get an easy lay-up.

I will never understand this it really boggles my mind.

Last year we had a guy named Novak who the defense couldn't leave open.

LOL!!! Adelman should take coaching lessons from JVG. Adelman so bad at playmaking he's making JVG look like Adelman.

Well, the play they ran was flawed from the beginning, at least option A of that play.

Battier in the corner with Yao on the post and Brooks on the wing trying to get Yao the ball is not smart since they will shade Yao with either Battier's man if Brooks tries the entry, or Brooks' man if Battier tries it.

There needs to be an option B when option A is just not there, and it needs to be recognized quickly. Trouble is if you go into your play too fast, you risk Yao holding it too long, or even scoring too quickly.

And Detroit stayed in this game by not doubling Yao. The Rockets arent used to playing entire games where there isnt much of a double on Yao.

cuz coach adelman lets the players decide the play after the timeout. most coaches would draw up one, but not ours.

van gundy was equally horrible at end of game plays. i don't remember who we were playing, but yao ended up taking a turnaround 3 to end the game and it came up about 4 feet short. about the most depressing end of game play i could ever remember.

Chicked Head Cut Off play is pretty much what we run every time. honestly, we should probably either go to scola or brooks. yao is going to be fronted or have the crap fouled out of him and he's never going to catch a 50/50 pass so that option is pretty much screwed. and God knows what artest will come up with one on one. at least with scola they wouldn't be likely to double and brooks can beat his man. they'd be the most likely to get a decent look.

having yao post up when we have to leave no time on the clock is just asking for a disaster, as is having shane stand 5 feet away from him in the same corner. especially because you know yao won't get deep position. you put brooks in an impossible situation because he can't pass it early and as soon as the front happens late it's all blown up. and then we get Chicken Head Cut Off play.

except for that play under Rudy where yao would set the pick and francis would shoot the 3, we haven't had good end of game plays in years and years. of course, most teams without a really good perimeter penetrator to get a good look have ****ty end of game plays. it's easy to run a good play with kobe or jordan.

adelman was badly outcoached tonight its painfully obvious.........

the pistons were attackin the rim exclusively tonight......no jumper except for acouple affalo threes and he still was subbing out the 7 foot 6 center who was altering all there shots at the rim?????

why u subbing in hayes....seriously whats the point.......deke clearly should have subbed yao tonight to guard the basket against a drive heavy detroit team.........

    dont get it at all.......

he was sending in perimeter defense when they needed the basket guarded....go figure

I didn;t understand the Hayes move either. It has NEVER worked, everytime he does it the other team always gets a fast two.

I don't know if that play will work. Brooks is only 4'11" without his head.
