Our newly anointed leader of the TMACless Rockets is horrible for about 75% of the season and rides shooting streaks for the other 25% but he still sucks, I don't know how much of an upgrade Aaron Brooks will be but I can tell you this he is a better shooter than Rafer ever was so we'll see. The fact that we got anything of value or even anything potentially valuable for Rafer Alston is a freaking blessing.

Yes this deserved it's own thread!

Hey we all hate/hated Rafer at one point but the man did give his all. He came off as a professional unlike tmac.

I don't agree because Rafer's role on offense isn't shooting.

Just because he's a bad shooter it doesn't mean he is bad for us.

He was a great point guard, definition of point guard who likes to spread the floor and make passes.

He didn't turn the ball too much.

Was a very good teammate and a VERY GOOD friend of Ron Ron (you can see Ron pissed right now)

Remember he was a great contributor to 22 game winning streak, last game against the Lakers...do you remember?

I don't know...if we got something else in the return that makes sense I wouldn't be so mad but this trade DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

    I'd rather have Rafer.

Who's going to be our court leader now? This trade is stupid.

I agree, Rafer was never in our long term plans.

This board is truly bi-polar, I thought everybody would be rejoicing the day we no longer have to see rafer throw up the prayers he calls a floater, no more launching 3's and bricking them just because hes left open.

Agreed. Nothing more to be said.

Kyle Lowry's shooting percentages are worse though,

This trade did not improve the Rockets, no matter how you slice it.

Rafer is better than Lowry and Cook. Our team is doomed.

Very true, also. He had his off-court incidents, but on the court/locker room he was great and in no way a distraction. I do wish him well in Orlando.

Totally agreed. Also Rafer is a ground general and a fighter.

How bout the big guy in the middle, if Rafer is your leader you are going nowhere anyway.

Rafer only led because Yao Ming is no leader, neither is T-Mac.

Rafer won't be the leader in Orlando, it would be Dwight Howard.

Yes, Rafer was completely unreliable as a shooter.....but our PG position just took a full step back. Guys that think Shane sucks too wouldn't understand.

If this was the only trade they pulled off, I'm seriously annoyed.

Rafer tried, and he played better without Tmac......but I can't honestly say I will miss him.
