ESPN: New Jersey very interested in Ron Artest

Chris Brossuard just reported on NBA Coast to Coast, the Rockets are making a package around Ron Artest to acquire Vince Carter. Brossuard said the Nets were interested in getting Ron and his expiring contract.

I missed this. Did it sound imminent or was he just reporting there is interest?

Obviously there would be a lot more involved than just Artest-for-Carter considering Artest makes about half of what Carter does. Ohh man, this could get interesting....

    NO NO NO NO NO!

    Tmac + Player for Carter

Ron is nowhere near Tmac on the cancer scale.

Why did we get rid of Steve Francis then?

we could have the top dunkers from the dunk contest that year!

I think he was mainly reporting the interest, but he also talked about how the relationship between Artest and McGrady wasn't too good

Seriously, keeping Tracy and giving up on Ron is the most bass ackwards idea I've ever heard of.

True, but if I try to put myself in the position of another team, I want Artest more than McGrady right now. People are starting to notice that the attitude problems with TMac can sometimes outweigh his talent.

He actually reported that he didnt really want him, and that the only reason it MAY work out is because of the expiring contract.

Sounds like speculation. All he really said is the Rockets are looking to deal Artest and New Jersey was the spot they heard of first.

I wouldn't say Vince is coming this way for sure.

Unfortunately such a deal would be a financial move.
