My company has premium season tickets (Courtside and Club Level) and the Rockets hosted an open court today for those tickets holders. It was the usual, free food (nachos and awesome burgers). My wife and I took pictures with Scola and Dorsey. AB was there and we scored his autograph, along with Dorsey and Laundry. They gave clincs on passing, rebounding and shooting. They played around some, it was fun.

At the end, I got to talk to Scola and of course I asked him what was up with Tmac; hows the situation? He told me, after his faced dropped and his voice lowered, "Not good." I then asked him if he was coming back strong and rehabbing, and he said to both questions in a very low key manner "I hope so." It seemed like he didn't want to say any of that to loud. Take it as you want it, but all of those guys are awesome. Dorsey is huge.

    I had an awesome time!!!

Ah man, I just got pepped up on the TMac Blog thread. I guess only DM and Rick Adelman know what the situation truly is. Every source gives off a different take on the situation. What's going on?!?

    Freedom of the press! Transparency!

I was joking, I guess all parties reached an agreement to prevent the further damages.

Trainers, equipment guys, and players wouldn't be calling Mutombo to get back quick if things weren't bad in the locker room. I think Yao and McGrady are doing obvious damage control.

I don't believe Scola would say something to you if something was really going on. I mean, why would he? So I'm calling BS on this story.

I think some like Yao are trying to put a positive spin on the situation, but Scola impresses me as someone who is candid in a cautious way. I believe the account , it sounds like something Scola would say.

The thought of Scola saying "Not Good" in his accent made me laugh.

Ok guys, I tried to scan my pics that we took at the Rockets event today. The pics were actually taken in a photo booth, it took 4 pics 6 seconds apart and printed out a little sheet. They had props like hats and neclaces and stuff to put around your neck. Scola was the best, he really got into it and posed. I'm gonna have my wife take photos of the photos and email them to me because I can't get my scanner to work.

So anyway, believe what you want. The entire meeting goes like this. I went up to Scola as he was talking to three little girls and their mother. He had two security people with him and the one I talked to said I coudn't have his autograph or take his pic with him because the Rockets only allowed it at certain times and those times have passed. But, he said I could sit there and talk to him so I did. The mother of the little girls was trying hard to lobby for a pic so I went around and talked to him on the other side since she jumped in front of me. Thats when I asked him the questions posted earlier. It was funny, his face lost expression like I wasn't supposed to know. He got quiet with short quick answers like I said earlier. He didn't say much. Take it as you might, but I can assure you, it did happen. I do have pics to prove I was there........but to me it doesn't really matter. Oh well....

i would believe it the few times I've been able to talk to scola he was very straight forward and honest with all the questions. Remember he also like Yao grew up and played ball mainly in a different type of basketball atmosphere. He still in some ways is a bit in awe of it all, especially his very first game in LA last season (season opener) he kept looking around at all the fans and everything he still does that now.

For example...When the rockets were in town early november to play the clippers tm1ym11 and I talked to scola for a bit before the game during the pre-pregame warmups and I told him to get 20 and 10. He said he would try. He goes out and score a bunch of points in the first quarter and is on fire. During both timeouts when he came over to the bench he looked over where we were sitting (we were lucky to have like 3 row seats next to the rockets bench) and smiled straight at us both times. He is a pretty honest guy like that.

Had maybe Rafer, Dorsey or AB said something like that to tim562 than I would be more skeptical about it, but Scola is pretty stand up and honest from my personal experiences with him so I believe what tim562 has to say.

Also tim562 is pretty stand up guy too so that helps :)

Actually this is the first real account of someone who I think is a real person who actually interacted with a real player, engaged in a real conversation and got what I think is a real answer, albeit short and quick.

Sure beats members who report hearsay stuff 2nd hand or 3rd hand from a friend of a brother of an uncle who's married to someone who is supposedly plugged into the Rockets. And anything from media/players interaction is automatically put in the PR Grain of Salt category.

Scola was probably upset that you were asking him questions about McGrady rather than about him. I mean, I would.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Mr. Yoyo, your a standup guy also. Also, the only other Steve Novak fan I know besides my wife, lol. I was gonna ask Doresey or Laundry or AB, but Scola was the only that made himself available to fans for the most part. I would never tell false pretenses or make up a story like this. I think I was very fortunate to be able to go to an event like this. There was maybe 200 to 300 people there. The only players to make it were AB, Scola, Laundry, and Dorsey.

Also, some commentary from Dorsey and Laundry was comical. As I was getting my autograph from both Dorsey and Laundry at the same time, Dorsey was complaining that he had signed 800 autograph cards yesterday. Laundry told him that he better get used to it because he was going to sign a lot more throughout his career. Dorsey told Laundry that he had once signed 2500 autograph cards and Laundry was like Woah!!! That all I got from them. It was funny.

His accent is awesome. Reminds me of Antonio Banderas in those Mariachi triology movies: Desperado, Once a Time in Mexico. "We played good"
