Seriously, I cannot figure this coach out.
His rotations are terrible, his defense is non-existent, his "great offense" is no where to be found...
I cannot find any "good" reason to believe he can lead this team out of this slump.
He has gotta go. There's no way of looking past it
Yeah his history as a coach sure does suck. The players on our team history in the playoffs sure is great.
Yeah, Adelman's a scrub when it comes to post-season play compared to all the Rockets who have massive playoff experience.
is it me or when we start to lose it no substitutions are made? it was clearly going downhill and nothing was done needless to say we never came back from that in tonights game i dont know does adleman suck? ive never coached basketball so i cant really say.....but some blame should go on RA
Quite frankly, that is the worst excuse that people keep using over and over again.
Let's count up how many championships RA has compared to Yao and T-Mac
Adelman: 0 Yao & McGrady: 0
OH MY WORD BATMAN!
Yeah, and how many times have Yao and T-Mac gotten past the second round? If anybody's slumming here it's not the Rockets players.
They haven't even gotten past the first round. You can argue that maybe Rick isn't the right guy for the Houston Rockets but to say he sucks is just ridiculous.
The team is not built for Adelman. Poor passers (except Tracy) 1/2 court team with dominant low post play One of the better one on one players in the league when healthy Good defenders, poor shooters Battier, Hayes, Artest, Rafer The basic problem right now is our defense is gone. Our offense is confusion and doesn't fit the players. Adelman is a good coach, but to experienced to adjust. He gave in to the JVG philosophy last season- defense and 1/2 court offense I think he was determined to change it this season, it has ticked off TMac and left the team without chemistry or identity. We have a better roster, a much poorer defensive team and a very hybrid offense. Best thing to do is rebuild.
Constant excuses.
If our players suck, why does Rick always choose to leave them in during that game?
When Rafer Alston is playing terribly, he leaves him in When Aaron Brooks is playing terribly, he leaves him in When Yao is outmatched, he leaves him in
Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe if things were ran in a different way, our players wouldn't constantly suck??
My main problem is the complete lack of defense. We will NEVER have great defense under Adelman. What you saw last year was leftover from the JVG era.
So, ok, let's go ahead and say our players do suck. We should at least have a decent enough defense to be a backbone for our team, so when we do struggle, we can count on that to pull us through...
Adelman was a guy who enjoyed great playoff success but it has been a few years and just like players, coaches lose their game too. The Rocket players as a group are not as savvy as the Kings or even the Blazers but these guys are NBA players and a few of them are really, really good NBA players. To say the players suck is a poor excuse. A team this talented should provide Adelman with endless possibilities to mold and adapt an offensive system around.
I'm sorry, perhaps I should have phrased that a bit better, however, you will have to forgive my rushed typing, because I was a bit pissed off.
Rick Adelman sucks as the coach of this team
