Cut T-Mac some slack; Utah No. 1?
Yeah, give the guy a break.

I love it when people feel comfortably clairvoyant enough to give medical advice from afar because they know when another person isn't hurting.

And questioning his toughness? Jeez. You would think the guy was a troublemaker or something.

(On a side not: is anybody criticizing Shane Battier, who has missed 10 more games than McGrady has this season? Battier had spurs removed from his ankle eight months ago. He wasn't smart in rehab of the injury, and is still paying for it. So why aren't people riding him like an old mule for making bad decisions that have hurt the team?)

The last thing I would do is tell T-Mac what he should do if what I'm telling him to do is based on my degree in medicine.

Now I have said he should shut it down until he is ready to play or feels comfortable enough to play to a level he can be satisfied. It's that simple.

McGrady shouldn't care what Rick Adelman or Daryl Morey or anyone else thinks, it's his body and his career. If he doesn't feel right, doesn't feel he can do what he is capable of doing, then he should follow his heart and sit. Period.

Yeah, the Rockets are usually better with half a T-Mac than no T-Mac, but that's life. My life might be better with half a Halle Berry, but I think she gets some say on that matter, doesn't she?

I'm not saying you should feel sorry for McGrady — criticism is part of the career path he chose — just that I think people are going over the top in jumping on him for being hurt.

I do like his approach to the situation, though.

"So kick me when I'm down, because I swear to you, I'll be back up," McGrady told Jonathan Feigen. "And when I get back up, I'm going to sit back, and I'm going to laugh, man, because I'm going to have the last laugh.

"Right now, I'm down. I'm physically down."

But he'll be back up. And then many of those wishy-washy critics will jump back on the bandwagon.

I am sorry, but he just takes the opposite of popular opinion no matter what the topic, so I don't take him seriously.

Shane Battier is not paid 20 million to play basketball. Aside from that, he is a role player, not a star. He won't be asked to be a star, like Tracy McGrady. If you switch Shane and Tracy's salary, then no one will be complaining about McGrady's output.

If it was my 20 million T-Mac would be riding the bench. He wouldn't come off the bench until he was playing for somebody else.

If he loved his body so much, he would have followed the Dr. orders to rehab and strengthen, not sit on your ass...

I actually appreciate the Devil's Advocate approach, it is refreshing to see someone not tow the party line, as witnessed by the many posters on this bbs.

and I happen to agree with him.

this article kinda sums it all up for me. im pissed off for sure, but because his trouble is all based on a legit physical incapacitation, i will not judge him as harshly as *some* are.

Yeah but if he always does it, then he's just doing it to be controversial, not because he believes anything one way or the other.

It's not debate team, you aren't assigned an opinion.

Choose your own.

So if you make 20 millions you body should heal faster, your pain is less and you will never get sick. That's how nature works Right?

2 world renowned surgeons said tmac is healed and playing on his knees wont hurt his knees and in fact will help the rehab process. Doctors said Shane is injured and playing will further hurt his injury. Also Shane has a history of hard work and was never injured till this year. Tracy is always hurt and is known to have quit on the Raptors and Magic.

I just don't see why King is being suck a Mcgrady-homer

Sounds like a good way to get a Stephon Marbury situation on your hands. Benching him means he wouldn't be able to show he is worth something. In turn making you dishout 20 mil for a guy to do nothing. That doesn't sound like a very smart investment.

how about you pay her 20M A YEAR to star in your next Star Wars movie, but she claims she has to sit half year because of a paper cut in her pinkie.

Yes, it's her body, but you would expect the same reponses from the producer, the director, the co-stars, the media, and the star war fans.
