With Saturday’s win, the Rockets’ fifth consecutive against the Timberwolves, they moved to 12-0 when scoring 100 points this season.

They have reached 100 points in 10 of their past 15 games after getting to that point just twice in the first 12.

The increased offensive power along with the ingrained defensive philosophy is working spectacularly.

With more consistency the Rockets can be the Celtics of the West.

    GO ROCKETS!

I wouldn't get too happy about our win over the Wolves. We really didn't look good; Yao looked 100 years old on defense.

Good teams that are low scoring will always have a very good record when they score at least 100 points.

Since the 03/04 season, here are the top teams when scoring 100 points:

This stat will get worse if our defense doesn't improve. We are a low scoring team but we rely on defense to win games. We won't have this stat if our defense doesn't show up. We did a pretty good job of holding the Wolves under 100 after they scored 32 in the first Q, but we have to do a better job of holding teams to under 90 or around 90 pts.

wow some of you guys seem so glum. come on it was a game on the second night of a back to back where they had to travel to a freezing cold city. these kind of night happen. as long as we get the W we can get some rest and get ready for the next back to back.

good stat tho. at least we know what it takes to win. just score over 100 points. also i think theyre 12 and 2 after leading in halftime or something like that.

    durvasa,

no one on your list is 12-0....UNDEFEATED.

Yao and Adelm and are taking over, with the best wing man playmaker to support it. Don't underestimate that.

    12-0 is a big deal
and so is the 8 game home winning streak

this team is taking OFF. We are going to win the ring.

    Last time I checked...

Boston are on a 17 game winning streak. Not just home.
And Cavs are on a pretty big home streak as well.

We have ways to go before we can consider us contenders.

I thought our wins were due to FTs and not offense or defense? Instead of counting on the increased defensive or offensive power Adelman should just show the team tapes of Dirk, Divac and Ginobili and teach them the art of Flopping. With Scola as their guide our team can really elevate Flopping to an art form. THEN we'll top 100 every single game, and win every game including the playoffs

Also we should focus eyes on when our opponents scoring 100+, our record this season--4-5. This is not so good. Rockets still need to improve.

12-0 implies the games when rox scored 100. Its not the winning streak.

FYI, current rox streak stands at 3.

Our defense has been suffering a lil' lately... But whatever, so long as we win, I guess.

The Rockets are also undefeated when they score more than their opponent. No link, just going off the top of my advanced mind.

I am impressed with our offense. Really, with Tracy and Yao in the lineup this should be an offensive-machine, but when you add Artest, Barry, it really gets interesting.

Last year we had problems scoring 95, this year we are scoring 98 already. I wouldn't be suprised if we reached 100 by the end of the season. And it is a good news. Why? Because so far our biggest problem in the playoffs has been offense.

Hopefully defense won't get much worse.

I'm liking the Brooks/Artest/Battier/Tmac/Yao combo that Adelman's used in the last game in the 4th quarter. Lots of offensive/defensive versatillity there.

Ok. There's still 11 more wins that are relavant to this thread ...even if you think the Wolves game was irrelevant.

BTW, would you still feel the Wolves game was irrelevant if they lost?

Are you kidding? Every game is not going to be a thing of beauty, but I will take an ugly win 100 out of 100 times.

    Reading ...it's FUNNNNDAMENTAL.

12-0 when scoring at least 100 points.

Trends. It's about Trends. This thread illustrates that we are on a good trend right now.

    Let me help:
    1. When we score more than 100 points, we win.
    2. Recently, we've been consistently scoring more than 100 points.

    Interpretation:
If our current trend continues, we'll keep winning a lot of games. If we do, we'll be a contender very soon.

Man, some of you guys are such Debbie Downers.
