In Hakeems prime, will he get shut down if Artest defended him? Yeah I was trying to be nice but the OP's thread doesn't even make sense. Maybe if Artest was like 7+ feet tall and kept all his defensive repritore.
Even the top centers of all time like Shaq, Ewing, David Robinson couldn't stop Dream. What makes you think a small forward could. The admiral was considered one of the top defensive center of all time and he got punked in his MVP year by Dream.
Dude what kind of question is that? Artest is a VERY VERY good defender. But at best he can guard PFs. When it comes to center, Ron is undersized. He might be able to guard some of the 6-11 centers, but when you talk about average-decent centers like Tyson Chandler, Ron will have a very very hard time. Now when it comes to Hakeem, that is even more different. Hakeem is not a traditional center, he is big, fast, strong, athletic and has strong mid range game. Ron will have no chance guarding Hakeem.

Hakeem wasn't 240 either. He was always listed at 255, although I think he weighed in at 270 during his later years. But to answer your question, no Artest could not shut Hakeem down.. not in a million years. Hakeem would destroy Artest in the post... probably have Artest thinking about retirement after the game.
