    In our 9 games, we have allowed all but two QBs to post a rating far higher than their season avg, and only once saw a QB post a rating below his season avg. In 4 of those 9 games, the QB posted his season high QB rating.

    Ben : 80 avg-->147*
    Collins: 73-->73
    Garrard: 84-->103
    Peyton: 83-->101
    Pennington: 95-->123*
    Orlovsky: 77-->100*
    Fitzpatrick: 67-->48
    Gus: 78-->112*
    Flacco: 76-->119

    Pathetic and damning. Smith has NO grasp on scheming against the pass.

    I think we already have more than enough proof to justify canning Smith. Not sure if it is entirely up to Kubiak but he better make a move before McNair does.

    I honestly think Kubiak's job should be evaluated as well. Yes, he's improved the offense... but any decent coordinator would have done that.

    He has yet to instill any sort of attitude/intensity/image to this team... and his game management skills are worse than most amateur Madden video game players.

    Since 2002, It seems like every team, with the exception of the lions, has enjoyed their day in the sun. =(

    the bengals sucked became good, only to suck again. Then you see the dolphins and what they're doing. Bill parcells just builds greatness. I can see why extremist, like richard justice, just want to start over. This is frustrating. Cowher and his flem are availabe this upcoming season right?

    Our defensive talent on this team CAN'T be THIS bad. Richard Smith sucks balls. There's no way he is still on this team next year...he may not even make it to the end of this year.

    Has this team quit on Kubiak?

    remember when 100 year 0ld mark brunell broke the consecutive passes in a game on us, back in 2006... The D quit before the season even began. Mario, Dunta, and ryans stay, purge everyone else.

    Not on the coach. But on Sage YES!!

    You cant blame two cheap-o shots by a A-hole def lineman on the coach last week. I believe that the Texans win that game with Shaub leading the team. Sage cant lead this team after the Indy game.

    I do believe that a new D Coordinator is needed. Wade Phillips or the Cleveland coach should be hired once they are fired depending on schemes they use with existing personel.

    Said it in the game thread. Fire Smith. When Marvin Lewis becomes free of his head coaching responsibilities, give him a good deal to come here to be DC.

    Can he run a 4-3? I don't want to have to switch schemes again.

    you know, the texans have never, ever been proactive - in many ways, that's commendable. unless you're posting losing records every year......

    assuming they determine smith's earned the lay-off, why not do it tomorrow? i would think a firing would quiet what i'm sure is going to be an angry fan base.

    Points allowed by game:

    38
    31
    30
    31
    28
    21
    6*
    28
    41

    Less than 28 only twice.

    The 6 pts was against a team that was playing without their starting QB and is now 1-8, only scoring over 20 pts three times with a season high of 23.

    The 21 was against the scrubby 0-9 Lions who haven't scored more than 25 this season.

    Edit: I missed the Lions game where we gave up 21.

    I really don't think it would hurt for just once, some ol' coot coordinating an offense in the NFL to play a game of Madden :eek: (Might turn future generation of coordinators into Mike Leach clones though)

    Houston's offense gets the yards, just dont know how to convert the yards into scores. I guess bad play calling would be one reason. And when the defense puts them in a position where they have to play catch up and rely on the Sages to turn into playmaker, we see what comes out of that...(Actually does it matter anymore if the D puts Sage in a position to win? This 2008 version sucks hard)

    But this is about the coaches ...Texans have 4 maybe 5 guys that could start for other teams- Mario, Dunta, Demeco, Okoye, maybe Eugene Wilson/Greenwood/Bennett depending on the team. The rest are filler. A good coach gets the filler to be at least functioning players handling their responsibilities. Texans appear to not have a good defensive coach.

    Richard Smith is obviously gone after the season. The Texans personnel on defense isn't THAT bad. It's him.

    No way. As a die-hard Bengals fan, I can honestly say that Marvin is beyond terrible. Our D is about as bad as its ever been under the regime of this so-called "defensive guru"

    Ray Lewis made Marvin's name. FIRE MARVIN!! :mad:

    *bengals fan rant over

    wait... why is it the coahces fault???.... good teams aren't stacked with filler the coaches have to squeeze every ounce of talent and effort out of.

    and for the record: okoye wouldn't start for very many teams and certainly no good teams. nor would wilson/greenwood/bennett (who lost his job with THIS team) - those three are definitively filler. they need at least 6 new starters on defense: DE, DT (assuming okoye's not a bust), OLB (assuming diles returns healthy), CB (assuming dunta recovers fully), SS, FS.

    and if the assumptions are wrong, well - 9. they are not good defensively. and coaching may also be a component; frankly, none of us really knows.
