We should be #3... or even #2.

Rox are number 1 in defense (even though only 3 games so far, not a meaningful stat). #1 defensive team last year won the NBA championship. And we face them tomorrow! Next week Rox should be #1 if they get past the tough schedule.

Win Tuesday and the rest of this week and we will go up, not that it matters.

The same could be said for pretty much everything posted on this board. None of it really matters or makes a difference in what happens on the court. It's just something to discuss.

I don't recall the Rockets ever being ranked number one, so it would be nice. I'll agree, though, it doesn't matter one single bit.

    its dumb anyway

    imo

the hornets should be at #1 they've had the most impressive start so far:

beating golden state on the road opening night
next night beating the suns on the road without chandler

then saturday in NO beating the cavs without chandler and peja

beating a team on opening night is ridiculously tough since the fans are even more rowdy and pumped, NO did it to two teams with pretty loud crowds.

i am happy the rockets did to the Mavs.

of course if the rockets can get through the next 2 weeks and come out with only 1-2 losses they will be in good shape

go rank them yourselves and while you are at it, rank the spurs, jazz, mavs, and hornets as low as possible so they slip in the fan rankings. Rockets already have 10 first place votes.

That top 4 looks right to me. You could argue Rockets over Celtics, but the defending champs get some leeway.

Power ranking is not important to me, however 1 to 4 is about right to me. Cant argue with how Lakers dominated their opponents and how well Hornets played without their center. If people argue abt Bos and us, I would say we would rank #3 if we could put away weak teams like Bos did.

A 2-1 team ranked over FOUR undefeated teams is a lot of "leeway" to me.

Analyzing someone's arbitrary ranking of NBA teams is different from analyzing the actual NBA players and games.

Most articles posted here are just as arbitrary, and so many people don't go out of their way to post about how pointless they are. If a power ranking thread doesn't interest someone, they should just skip it. It's not hard to tell exactly what it is from the thread title.
