...has questioned their opponents patriotism, and said he would rather lose a war to win an election.

...has accused their opponent of having such a dislike of America that he would rather pal around with terrorists.

...falsely accused their opponent of wanting teach comprehensive sex-ed to Kindergardeners.

...defended supporters who shouted racial slurs, other forms of bigotry, and even death threats.

...falsely tried to paint a potential next President as a marxist and socialist.

...routinely attracts racists who shout their racism, bigotry, and xenophobia to their rallies.

...makes statements that some parts of the country are the 'real America' and are more patriotic than other parts of our country.

All of these things have zero to do with the economy, or other issues facing our nation at a time when the issues couldn't be more important.

Obama's campaign hasn't been perfect, but they've not done any of the things mentioned above. I hear people mocking change, but look at the change Obama's campaign style has been from Bush's and McCain's.

A vote for McCain is a vote saying this type of divisive non-issues campaigning is effective.

People claim they want to really talk about the issues, but yet would still vote for McCain who only brings up this kind of garbage and avoids the issues.

One of the main reasons I would love for Obama to win is to send a message that we are tired of the divisiveness. We deserve something better.

I really wish the republicans would run on actual ideas, its sad. I mean, I guess less government is an idea but we've seen when people are in need, they want government. You can't argue for less government when we're bailing out wall street because they ran wild with less government. Its not working this year and there are no real ideas coming from the other side of the aisle and that's sad for everyone. You need to be more specific on how less is more.

We need a legitimate debate in this country. I'm not sold on all of Obama's ideas, but there is no challenge, other than you pal around with terrorists or that you're a socialist. That's not a debate. It has to change.

Have you actually seen a FULL McCain campaign event or just what you read in the paper? He's touched plenty on the economy, but those aren't the sound clips we get to hear because they don't make for exciting tv.

I've seen a couple of his events on tv and I've heard him talk about the economy.

Maybe an Obama presidency will defuse things.
.
Not all McCain voters are ignorant or racist, but you would think those who aren't would be embarrassed by the campaign he is running.

"If we talk about the economy, we lose".

Probably the most damning statement in this entire campaign from either camp.

Both campaigns are about Obama.

Obama campaign: Why Obama should be president.
McCain campaign: Why Obama shouldn't be presidnt.

if the economy was fine at this point, I feel that those dirty terrorist campaigning tactics, used by the right all over the world, would have been successful once again.

If McCain wanted to get that message across, he has 100% control of his ads. The message you want to spread is not the one you use at rallies with 1000 people. It's the one that you use in ads to millions of people.

In fairness I have heard McCain talk about the economy in some campaign speeches. But it wasn't the focus of his speech, and as Donnie mentioned his own campaign says that if they talk about the economy they lose. It is their strategy to not talk about the economy.

If they had ideas to talk about they wouldn't have to just throw an obligatory mention of the economy in between attacks of Obama not wanting to win a war, and Joe the lying plumber.

Of course we need a link.

But if this were true it would mean that the McCain campaign was even more morally bankrupt because they were pulling all of this divisive crap when they should be able to win talking about issues.

All the more reason to vote against the campaign and these kinds of tactics. Let's change the way politics have been carried out for too long.

McCain also has gained ground as the candidate to trust on economic issues. Forty-eight percent (48%) now trust the Republican hopeful more than the Democrat while 47% hold the opposite view. This is the first time McCain has led on the issue that has hurt his campaign since September 17. One month ago, Obama held a nine-point advantage when it came to economic issues.

I voted for Obama, but I don't think this is accurate.

Has John McCain actually defended racial slurs, bigotry, and death threats?

Exactly. No, of course he has not defended them. In fact, he has denounced them, rendering these libs' ridiculous arguments absurd.
