I wanted to start learning a fighting style. There are many out there (i.e. B jiu Jitso, Muay Thai, other various styles) I was leaning towards BJJ. I wanted to see what ya'll opinion was on this topic. What do you think is the best fighting style. Any recomendations of places in Houston that train in the various styles?

You should learn that cool, badass street-fighting technique that looks like dancing.

I think it depends on what you're trying to accomplish:

    self-discipline?
    mental strength?
    art?
    preserve tradition?
    style?

Personally, if I got in a physical fight with someone, I would have only one thing on my mind: win the fight.

If you don't care about style, tradition, self-discipline, etc. and all you care about is winning the fight at all costs... supposedly the answer for that is Krav Maga.

Go paint a few fences and wax some cars. But as long as you can catch flies with chopstix you can pretty much kick anyones ass.
