I know they are both out campaigning, but they are both sitting US senators.

I am shocked that neither of them took the time out to go to the Senate to hear the debate on the bailout bill.

I mean they could have said "This bill is too important to the future of the United States, and when I was elected I owe it to the American people to be part of this debate".

It would have made the other one look like a fool for not fulfilling their duties....

I think they both missed a unique opportunity.

Neither of them is on the Banking Committee and the bill is not on the floor - so ..... no opportunity there.

I see, I guess we shall see what happens when it hits the main floor.

I wouldn't expect too much. There is too much opportunity for a comment to be spliced and taken out of context for either of them to be a meaningful part of the debate.

It would be refreshing for them to show up though.

I think it would show committment to the American people that they are interested in hearing what secretary Paulson has to say, and to help them craft an informed position to better serve the American people.

Hannity is a "commentator" not a journalist.

Yep. McCain acted first (as usual) and then Barack is on now trying to act like he was tricked.

That's his usual cycle. The other day he made fun of McCain for wanting to appoint a committee... then yesterday he says we need a committee.

Next time Barack wants to know what to do, he should just ask McCain.

    Rudy was right.

I believe Obama called McCain and initiated this......but McCain trying to delay the debate is laughable...Obama is crushing McCain right now...CRUSHING him........

Obama should do exactly what he is doing, and McCain is getting what he deserves.....
