READ THE ENTIRE POST AND GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK Hoops season is just around the corner and since I'm rather busy between school and work, so I'd like to get organized and started early this year. We'll stick with 16 teams (roughly $6/per team) in 4 divisions like last year. Team payment can be made through Paypal. I'll shoot out the payment info once we have all teams reserved. The draft will tentatively start on the 8th. As it stands now, there will be a 12 hour time limit per pick. I highly encourage everyone to send a list to either myself or someone that picks behind you. If you are at the end of a round where you pick twice and you are skipped, you are skipped for both picks immediately. That's the price you pay for getting to pick back to back. The draft is live and SLOW, so expect delays. We always get through this with a day or so to spare and I expect the same this year. Also, with the problem of teams sitting players at the end of the season for the real playoffs, perhaps we should bump our semi's and playoff up 1 week (eliminating the final real game or two). Thoughts? Last year we had the following managers that have the first option to claim a spot: 1. RocketsPimp* 2. nWo4Life* 3. PSJ* 4. FlintTown* 5. DarkHorse* 6. Moestavern19* 7. Fadeaway* 8. Shagdog1976* 9. Rocketball* 10. l3uddahboy 11. SamCassell 12. ChrisJent 13. Krnxsnoopy Backups 14. Ziggy* 15. rawool* 16. Alright, who is in?
I'll be back. Looking over my team from last year, I don't know how I didn't finish better. Basketball is so tough to win these days. Bumping the playoffs up a week sounds like a good idea. With regard to the draft timer, 12 hours is really long. We used an 8 hour timer in baseball this year and it was plenty long -- even seemed too long at times. Did 4 hours in football, and that went surprisingly well with very few skipped picks. Honestly, I feel that the people who are willing to let their time expire will end up doing so regardless of what the limit is, so a super long limit just punishes the others who have to wait around. Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about it. I guess in a way the frustration is part of the tradition.
I would rather stick with 16, cause the league is already diluted enough as it is. My opinion of course.
I won't be back. I feel I really let you guys down by abandoning my team, and don't want to do that again
I think I'm going to let someone have my spot. I love fantasy football but this was my first go at fantasy basketball and I just sucked at it and just didn't enjoy it like I thought I would. Have fun guys.
Yeah, you're already starting to annoy me. Send me your email address so I can let you know. If BobFinn doesn't want in, you and rawool got the 2 spots we have open so far.
Pimp- sorry to say but count me out, really lost interest in this league and don't think my lame abandonment should happen again......
I'm in. I would rather have 16 teams. As far as pick time goes I would even go for a much much shorter draft time like 5 - 10 minutes to just sit down and get it over with.
I played in the league like 4-5 years ago. Gawd has it been that long? I'd be interested in playing again if a spot is available. Can someone please provide a recap of the scoring and point system? Thanks.
Glad to have you back Matador. Here is the lineup/scoring system: 12 active players per roster. 1 IR spot for an injured player. Scoring Rules: Points 1 Assists 2 Rebounds 2 Steals 2 Blocks 2 Three Pointers Made 1 Turnovers -1 Technical Fouls -3 5 starters (C/F/F/G/G) and 3 flex players per game. Here are the reserved teams and pending responses so far: Reserved 1. RocketsPimp* 2. nWo4Life* 3. PSJ* 4. FlintTown* 5. DarkHorse* 6. Moestavern19* 7. Fadeaway* 8. Shagdog1976* 9. Rocketball* 10. Ziggy* 11. rawool* 12. Matador* 13. l3uddahboy* 14. ChrisJent* 15. SamCassell* Pending 16. Krnxsnoopy We'll keep it at 16 teams since that seems to be the concensus from those that have spoke up. I haven't decided about the length of the draft yet. I've always kind of enjoyed the slow draft, but if everyone can agree on a date/time I'll entertain the idea of having a quick draft. For now, I'm sticking with a start date of 10/8 at 7pm in the chat where we'll hold the lottery.
