Did ya'll know that our summer league teams over the past 4 years have gone a combined 19 - 1?
Impressive
I know, I know, its just summer league. But, for us hoops junkies it still qualifies as our mid-summer Rockets fix. Our summer league stint kicks off tonight @ 7:30p with a matchup against the Suns, and I'm pretty excited to see Robin Lopez get a heavy dose of Joey Dorsey a.k.a. RLWAB.
Other notables to watch for:
Former U of H product Lanny Smith gets to show whether or not he belongs in the NBA
Aaron Brooks will show if he is closer to who we think he can become
Texas A & M's Joseph Jones gets to show us if ALL that talent is indeed wasted on a guy who hasn't figured it out (yet?)
My guy, Mike Harris will prove his value by showing improved skills to go along with his 'lunchpale' attitude of getting to work and doing whatever it takes
I know, it's summer league. But I'm excited. Are you?

05 and 06 they went undefeated...
the only player on both those rosters...
Chuck Hayes.
Just some useless trivia for you.
Edit: I lied.. the gun toting Lonny Baxter was on both of those teams too

Outsiders looking in, they look at us and they figure we're taking a year off because we don't have Yao, or Tracy is coming back later in the season. The guys on this team, the guys in this locker room, we know what we have. We know what we can do. We're a hard-playing team. If you play hard, you give yourself a chance to win.-Hayes

Lanny Smith doesn't belong.
I am looking forward to watching Brooks and the rookiesand to see if harris can play the 2 and 3. (we don't need another small 4) I would also like to see if these 2 pg's Barrera and r. robinson have any real skills that might be developed.
Mostly I am just excited about watching any kind of real action. Searching this board everyday for nothing is making me crazy.

Another player to watch out for is Greene. His progress is likely to be slower but can be even more important than Dorsey's. I'm really interested to see what AB0 can do.I hope Harris will do well too.

I like to be consistent.
I do love summer league...it keeps me sane with a dose of basketball even if the games are sometimes REALLY ugly to watch.

I am gonna watch Brooks intently.....
I want to see if he can make it easier for his teamates the mark of an improving PG.
He can actually get wide open shots for anyone on the team with his quickness.....
If he does that, we may understand why the Rockets have not brought in another PG this summer.

I think the rockets have played alot of rotation players in their summer league teams and bring in alot of hustle guys too. Most of the other teams' rosters are filled with really young high potential guys who don't play all that hard.

Is anyone going to be in chat tonight?
I have a test in my night class tonight, so I will probably be there late, but I plan to hop in.
Maybe we should ask Clutch to do a "Rockets VSL Game" thread? Not that it's necessary, but just a thought.

Stop Foreclosure! If your house payments are more than a month behind, your lender has probably already started foreclosure proceedings. There are programs to help stop home foreclosure in Houston Texas regardless of your situation. With the right help, virtually any foreclosure situation can be successfully resolved to help the homeowner.
