I would like to get our fellow Chinese members' opinion of Sharon Stone after her "karma" comments. Do you accept her apology or does it feel insincere...just to stop the controversy? What do those around you think of her now? Do you ban her for life now as far as her use in Chinese advertising and watching her movies? She obviously put her foot in her mouth bigtime. Now, it sort of feels like China vs. Sharon Stone over here in the US. If it gets her to participate a lot in the China disaster aid efforts (like she eluded to stepping up her efforts), then will she earn back Chinese favor? Any comments on the issue are welcome.
she said the same type of **** about W back in 2000- she's an idiot, albeit an idiot with a modestly compelling vagina.
She seemed tipsy - drunk in the video. She's amazing. I think she is mad at China for "being mean to her friend", which is the most enjoyably self-absorbed part of it. I mean, it is amazing to think that those children and families and civilians are deserving of retribution for China's treatment of the Dalai Lama, but even more amazing if she thinks they deserve it because their government is "mean to her friend." Her acting is as wretched as her politics. Will she be remembered for anything other than showing her cooter and revelling in the deaths of countless innocent people? Quite an epitaph.
does anyone remember when she said that she had 10 brain tumors until she stopped drinking coffee and then they went away?
banned for life. some lines you just don't cross. she probably never thought about it before she said it. which makes her true feeling. even though she is an idiot. apology is worth ****. besides, "karma" is not a concept that Chinese people share universally. on top of that, the earthquake area, is concentrated minority area. many different ethnic groups live there. i wonder what did they do to deserver her "karma".
her comments do not need to be shot down with logic, i really don't understand why her comments are even news worthy.
Do you know what your problem is? You are trying to use a rational approach to analyze something which is irrational.
Because news is intended to sell advertizing and sex sells. She did pose her answer in the form of a question.
1. Her apology sounds very insincere. So I won't accept it. 2. "ban her for life"? That is too much repect for her. I will just ignore her. There is not much to ingore anyway, she is just too old and ugly now to be noticed. I like young chicks. 3. "china vs Sharon stone". Again, she doesn't deserve it.

Who cares about Sharon Stone. I bet she won't produce anything worthwhile in the future for me to care about banning her or not (I've watched enough Basic Instincts). She did receive her own bad Karma, being pulled from Dior ads and all.
As far as the "official reactions of PRC" are concerned, the media (in the West) have paid far more attention to an op-ed commentary on the Xinhua news site, in which Sharon Stone is called an "Enemy of All Mankind." China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang, however, seems to be fairly forgiving and diplomatic in his press conference: "We took notice of Ms. Sharon Stone's remarks the other day. We also note she has since through her agent apologized to Chinese people on this matter. We hope the earthquake relief effort on part of the government and people of China are well understood and supported by the international community. We also hope celebrities do more to strengthen mutual trust and friendship among people of different countries."
He should have mentioned that Sliver was a letdown considering Basic Instinct was such a groundbreaking movie.
