I need help with a mother's day gift. My mother is in her 50's, single and is incredibly hard to buy for. She doesn't have any hobbies or special interests. She doesn't really care about price or anything like that, but she definitely wants a gift that is nice. WWCFD?
If you have some pictures, make her a book or buy her some earrings (just look at the ones she wears and buy similar ones). Really, it's the thought that counts... and get her flowers. Unless she's a fan of roses I recommend getting colorful mixed flowers.
I'm trying to decide what to buy my mommy... Maybe a little scrapbook of me and my sis or an over due new cell phone for her.
Anything from here... http://secure.jamesavery.com/index....mpaign=brand&gclid=CIPzguGqiJMCFRAZHgodLxn9Zw There are 9 stores in the Houston area
Write a song for her and stand outside her window and sing it to her. If you aren't a very good singer, you can lipsync it and have a good singer hide behind a tree and sing it for you.
It's going to be interesting this year. My wife and I have a five month old daughter, so I need to get her something special for Mother's Day. Any thoughts on an appropriate gift for a mother's first Mother's Day? My Mom (like most of my family) is an avid reader, so getting her a book or two is always a well-appreciated gift.
Go look here http://thepearloutlet.com/ I have done lots of business with these folks and their pearls have always been better than described.
Easy...a charm bracelet with little girls hanging from it. Thats what my wife wanted after our first daughter. Again..James Avery is a great store for that.
I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001XLSQ6 Has some good reviews. Could be very helpful for the upcoming Houston summer.
Thanks. Normally that would be a great gift, but my wife doesn't really like or wear jewelry. She's a chef, so it's hard to wear that stuff day-to-day. My wife's not too typical with respects to gifts, which makes gift-buying cheaper but takes a lot more time to find the right gift. I like it that way. You really have to think about the person. I think I might try to get something that she can put up at work with pictures of our daughter. I definitely want something that reminds her of being a mother. I gave my goddaughter a charm bracelet for being the flower girl at our wedding, and I send her a new charm every year for her birthday. I think I'll do something like that for my daughter. Gotta see if I can get a Rockets charm...
Goto Target and get her this thing that you can put a picture in one side and a hand print of your child on the other side. It's not like most of the hand print makers, it's just clay that your press the foot/hand in and the bake, so you can use it with a baby (I did). Let me know if you're interested and I can look up a link for you or give you more details about where to find it in Target.
My brother-in-law gave us one of those when she was born, and it's pretty cool. I think I'm going to get a picture frame that you can put a good dozen photos in and print up some of the better pics we've taken. Right now my wife works in the basement of a restaurant as their pastioli, and it's pretty drab. She printed up two pictures to take in, but I think a good variety of photos of our daughter laughing, playing with the dogs, wearing her Rocket jersey, sticking her foot in her mouth, etc. would make a good gift for Mother's Day.
You are welcome. You will be very pleased. Get on their email list and you will get some really good deals. Our local jeweler has always graded the pearls higher than the Pearl Outlet did.
