Do you have any other requirement? Size? Megapixels? Zoom? I would suggest Canon sx100 IS, see review here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsx100is/ and Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz5/
For someone whose only requirement was price, I'd throw this out for consideration. It has a good mix of features with the addition of being small and sexy. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd850is/
You'll be happy with this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._-CANON+USA+Inc-_-30120208&CMP=AFC-C8Junction Use coupon EMCAEABAE for 10 dollars off
I got the Canon SD1100 IS, which is great too http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSh...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1209322355&sr=8-2 basically, any Canon IS series
Which is better considering value? Canon SD750 (black) for $178 or Canon SD850 (silver) for $215 Is the SD750 even a good camera?
i like the canon sd850IS for $215 another good alternative: fujifilm f45fd for $104 ($179-$75 rebate) at ritz http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541245346.htm earlier versions of this fujifilm camera (f31fd) had some of the best reviews at places like dpreview. the f45fd is probably not as good, but its still a really good camera, and its probably really hard to beat that price
Check it out! http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=147367 $300 bucks. Thats a special deal for clutchfans members. I'd be asking $350 on craigslist.
i should get comission for pimpin your camera....but honestly if you're gonna spend 200, why not just pay $300....i had to steal twoof the picutres (the huddle and the intro with the flames) and use it as my background
I post something to this nature in every camera thread, but if your budget is even somewhat limited, Fuji is much better than Canon. I personally have a S9000, which is out of your price range, but Fuji has others that are really good for cheaper. The S700 (http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Fine...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1209399259&sr=1-1) and the S8000 (http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Fine...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1209399259&sr=1-1) will take better photos than anything else at around $200. If you want something a little smaller, the E900 (http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Fine...r_1_36?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1209399447&sr=1-36) skimps a little on zoom, but photo quality is much better than any Canon pocket camera. When you compare similarly-priced cameras, you cannot justify buying anything over a Fuji.
Fuji's are often known for purple fringing on the photos they take. But they are NOT bad cameras by any means--and although I've read about the purple fringing on more than one Fuji model, I'm sure they don't all do this. Canons are just a bit more favorably reviewed overall.
