Queen is hard rock?
Neil Young is hard rock?

At least 1/2 of the bands in that list aren't even close to being hard rockers.

What about Alvin Lee and Ten Years After?
Montrose?
Traffic?
Trapeze?
Foghat?
Animals?

If they can include the Stones, then Humble Pie belongs as a hard rock band.

If Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, and Kiss belong in the top ten, given the other bands on that list, hard rock or not, then I must have wandered into the freaking twilight zone. Nirvana at #6, and Deep Purple can't crack the top twenty.

Is that Henry Rollins I see in front of Janis Joplin?

What are Slayer and Anthrax doing in the fifties while Metallica comes in at #5? Megadeth at #69? Have I missed a good Metallica album since '88? Twisted Sister nine ahead of Queensryche? I remember the eighties, but that's not how I remember 'em.

Yeah, Motley Crue belongs well ahead of the Yardbirds. That's a quality list. They even threw Spinal Tap in there. Does anyone own a Spinal Tap album? Do you listen to it?

And there are eleven bands behind Lita Ford that just don't belong there. Tell me they drew these names out of a hat. Why bother with Beck, Santana, and Vaughn when you've got Lita Ford?

Guns and Roses (way too high), Twisted Sister (this has to be a joke), Faith No More, Quiet Riot, Meatloaf, and Pat Benatar should not even be on this list. Rush at number 28 is just plain WRONG!!!! They should be top 10 easy!

I cannot acknowledge this list due to a lack of credibility!

May as well add Duran Duran and STYX. What about Journey? They all sucked, add them!

This is a terrible list. Good Lord! Lita Ford??????????

Lita Ford rocked in her day. She (and a few others like Joan Jett) made it cool for chicks to get into hard rock. But Heart??!!!??!? Please.

I think some people are forgetting that "Hard Rock" does not necessarily mean "Heavy Metal." While metal is certainly hard rock, the opposite does not apply.

I have some issues with the order of the bands, but for the most part, the list is more of less complete. Personally, I HATE Pearl Jam. I think they suck suck suck, but as much as I hate them, I recognize their impact.

And hell yes Quiet Riot belongs there.

I am full aware that metal is not the same as hard rock. I am as big a music buff as anyone.

But my opinion of Quiet Riot is simply this...they were a joke of a band, as was Twisted Sister. If you can count the number of quality songs on two fingers, then they do not deserve to be on a list of best all time rock bands. Just my opinion!

While Quiet Riot may not have had a bazillion songs that everyone knows, everyone does know a couple:
Metal Health (Bang Your Head) is a freakin' rock and roll anthem if there ever was one.
Cum On Feel The Noize is another one. Find me someone with any amount of rock and roll knowledge who hasn't heard these two songs. In QRs case, these two songs alone are enough to warrant them being ont the list, IMO. In the early '80s they were up there with Twisted Sister and We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. TS was one of the bands that really kicked off the Glam Rock/Hair Band movement.

You think Journey sucked? Wow. Oh well, to each, his own.
