But Stern lured Jordan back into the league himself and it makes sense for the NBA to make Jordan and his team successful. Jordan has already tried this tactic with the Pistons and Grant Hill. We'll trade you Juwan now, because we'll show him the endorsement money and he'll bolt anyway. The Pistons didn't bite. Will Toronto?"

Don't let it bug you. According to the CBA, you cannot use things like endorsements to compensate players. If McGrady signed a lowball contract with Washington and then started appearing in Nike commercials, Stern might like it but all the other owners would be calling for Jordan's head. It won't happen; this is fantasy.
