Since Monday, everything I eat just tastes bland. This includes crackers, orange juice, gatorade, chicken, etc. I don't know if there is something wrong with my taste buds or what, but this feeling sucks. I'm supposed to go out tonight w/ some friends to eat but don't want to drop $12+ if I can't taste anything.
Has this happened to anyone before? How long is it supposed to last? I tried googling but that didn't garner anything helpful.

I was feeling under the weather last Friday, but after a couple of days of taking anti-biotics, I was back to normal. I first thought it had something to do with the medicine, but everything was fine when I was taking it.

Is there anything wrong with your nose? A lot of what we think of as "taste" actually comes from our noses...

Not to sound an undue alarm but some neurological problems can cause this.
Of course the flu could be the culprit, but it sounds like you've already ruled that out.
Go to the doctor.....err on the side of caution here.

Yeah, according to the wiki page, it could be something neurological. I really have no clue how to get to a doctor on campus, so if things continue the way they are, I'll just have to wait until I'm back in Houston.

Don't think their's anything wrong with my nose, I mean I can smell just fine if that's what you're asking. I was able to smell food tonight..too bad it tasted like cardboard.

Appreciate it. Hopefully things don't go downhill into depression, I doubt it. First I've ever heard of something like that though. However, don't think this softens me up on the basketball court though.

well if it continues for a few more days you probably want to call the doc. But, initially thinking, it is more than likely a bug that has your system out of wack.
Get on your vitamins, eat well and get a lot of rest this weekend. If its not better monday...call the doc.

Since you can't taste anything, you might as well eat as much as those tasteless veggies as you can. Eat something healthy.
I know the only way I'd eat carrots and greens is if my taste buds are off.

Yeah, no point buying burgers if you can't taste them. Might as well just eat veggies for the rest of your life. This is a miracle dude! Now you can be even healthier than you are now!
