Yes we know that Rafer can't shoot the 3, Yao is too weak, Tmac is too lazy, Luther is clueless, Chuck can't make layups, but how about getting the Rockets some props for playing some D? I personally think Shane Battier has been playing underrated basketball lately.
because our rookie PFs. Their style is different from other Rockets. They play big and they are winners.
We're getting contributions from multiple players on the offensive end, our two best players aren't out with an injury. and we're playing smart, team defense. Confidence and sense of urgency also helps.
The winning streak started once it was announced that Francis' season was over. IMO he was causing chemistry issues with the team. It was just "weird" for him to be there on the sidelines after he was the one we traded for Tmac.
A big turning point is when Tmac was injured, the team found a way to win from there. The potential of our rookies was discovered, and they also brought energy and passion of the team to a new level.
There are many reasons for this winning streak, but soft schedule is probably a big one and often overlooked.
Balanced scoring, distribution of the ball (we have like 20-30+ assists a game), and that clutch shot from Novak ..and easy opponents. Tomorrow will be big.
even with a soft schedule, have we ever had a run like this before in the previous 3 yrs? i'm sure every year we have a stretch where there are beatable opponents but we were never this consistent.
Soft schedule, and improved play of Rafer, Scola, and Landry. The Hornets are the Semester Exam. If the Rockets pass, they will be promoted. If they lose, the streak will be discounted. BIG GAME.
Aside from weaker opponents, Scola and Landry solidifying the 4 spot and Rafer and Shane hitting consistently from the outside(something they struggled with the first 2 months of the season) have been the keys.
