I read that Jester Jackson got 64% of the South Carolina primary vote in '88. Obama didn't come close to that. Once again, an overload of hype directed to the no substance candidate with the Morgan Freeman voice. All sizzle no steak. Look at the stats from yesterday -- 5 out of 6 blacks voted for Obama. That's why he won. Coalition building across races? ha! Latinos don't vote for him. Asians hate him. He finished in third place among whites yesterday. This guy really is nothing more than a fairy tale and a media creation. All hype. Woefully inexperienced and flawed.
basso's making fun of Clinton's comments. He picked Obama in the Obama/Romney poll. What makes you think he's not open to Obama?
Instead of regurgitating the media (you'd think you could come up with your own thoughts instead of stealing from Bill Clinton, of all people), you should actually learn about stuff that you talk about. 1. Jesse Jackson's home state was SC. Huge advantage. 2. SC was a caucus in 1988, not a primary - completely changes the voting dynamic and ultimate breakdown. 3. JJ didn't get anywhere near the white vote Obama has gotten in the first four primaries, including SC. I believe JJ didn't break 10%.
Look, rookie, the only people that voted for Obama were blacks. Ok, let's say Obama is from SC. Does that mean he gets 6 out of 6 black votes instead of the 5 out of 6 he got yesterday? Big whoop. Whites voted for him in a tiny percentage -- around what Jester Jackson got, perhaps marginally higher. Really you can't prove that a caucus system versus a primary system would have helped or hurt him. Your points simply do not hold. Sorry.
Ouch! A true smackdown That's been happening to you a lot these days huh george. I understand. It's frustrating to see your boy Romney lose every match-up poll we do here. Even losing to that guy with no experience.
Obama got about 3 times the white vote percentage as Jackson. In 1988, SC was sandwiched between Super Tuesday and other big primaries - it was largely uncontested and had a favorite-son running. Caucuses are built on ground operations, and it was JJ's home turf. No one else put much effort into SC - many candidates did not even come to the state. You really should educate yourself before posting - even more so than your nonsense economic posts where you can pretend you know stuff, you truly, blatantly show your ignorance when talking politics.
Obama appeals to Shane Battier, Grant Hill, and Michael Jordan, but also appeals to Ron Howard, Harry Connick, Jr , and Judy Blume.
Oh yeah and Bill needs to tone it down. He's an asset to Hillary's campaign in a limited role but he's gone past the point of diminishing returns.
Hussein Ubama is quickly becoming the "black candidate" (despite being only half-black and raised by a white woman, lol). That ain't good for business when 90% of America isn't black. Whites are beginning to distance themselves from him, which could spell his demise (which is well under way...).
Which is exactly what you want right??? Some of you guys really are jokes. To say I was in Iraq fighting for people like some of you really diminishes the importance of the operation to me... Is the Hussein "U"bama reference really necessary? Grow up folks.
I like to use the full name and a closer phonetic spelling of his last name to the true native language. It's very similar to how "Usama" sounds closer to the actual spoken name than "Osama".
are you actually trying to rationalize your post? Besides the fact that pretty much 99.9% of the population pronounces his last name clearly with an O, your attempt to pretend like you weren't acting childish when you clearly were only adds to the lack of intelligence associated with your posts.
