This may be a dumb question because it may be obvious to some, but are they all scripted and the people are all actors?

A lot of it seems scripted to me. I don't think everyone are actors though. More like regular folks and people just tell them what to say or how to act. All those shows are corny as hell btw. From the Real World to A Shot of Love, I can't stand any of those reality-type shows.

You pretty much hit the nail ont he head. I know someone who was on parental control. She and her BF had been broken up for a while when they went on the show as a couple.

EXACTLY! Shows on that channel displaying 16yr olds bitching about their new Mercedes being the wrong color and Lasso Apso's in platinum-cyber-faux techno-Armani sweaters are the reason they jam planes up our asses in the first place. Good god I hate everything about that fu#$fest they call MTV.

i knew a couple people on roomraiders.

they are real people, but they don't really go on dates afterwards, and the grab them from the whole room is scripted, plus they do multiple takes of things

I can confirm this. Had a frien on Roomraiders as well and that's what she told me.

Yes, they are scripted. And the ones they film in LA are comprised of aspiring actors/actresses that are desperate to get on the screen.

I was flipping through the channels one weekend and I saw a young new starlet into the porn world occupying a spot as a contestant on that show "Next". I watched a little of it to make sure it was her and it damn sure was. Not that I was surprised or anything, but some of you may be.
