Clutch et all,

I just did the PBP for tonight's game and my fingers are in flames.....but it got me to thinking, could we get a ventrillo or Team speak server and let people log in and just listen to some of us doing PBP off the Rockets broadcast?

I used to do PBP at SWTSU, and my degree is in Broadcast journalism....with an empasis on sports, I would be happy to help, and I am sure others would too.

What does everyone think?

PS. if this would break NBA Rules..doing an unauthorized pbp, then we could just do.....Rockets talk during the games.....

Yeah that would be nice, but I prefer Ventrilo in case you guys are trying to decide which one.

I don't think those servers could handle more than 50 people or so at a time.

Oh yeah Ventrilo is 200 users max and you need a license and all that.

TeamSpeak is free, so I guess that would be better.

I bet this would violate all sorts of NBA copyrights.

Also: Doesn't NBA.com offer something like this for free?

Know any good programmers?

If we could get someone to write a flash or java page that integrates the web-chat client into two instances side by side, one for pbp and one for everything else, and/or combine the web-chat client with a audio streaming application...it would fulfill the results you are looking for.

What it needs to be is something that would load like the current clutchfans.net chat page.....load everything needed so anyone could use it without arcane setup steps.

Im all for getting maximum use and enjoyment out of the chatroom, but remember that this *is* the official CF.net channel, and Clutch has final say on any change in how the room is used.


btw, a thought...I used to listen to a service called live365 (or somethign like that) and it allowed people to run their own radio stations....maybe this could be used for audio pbp...but Im not sure what the limits are on simultaneous users or if there is a cost involved.

yeah it would. but, if it is just for PBP, wouldn't it essentially be an online radio PBP of rox games? jim peterson would headhunt you

When I did the PBP for SWTSU......I modeled my style after Gene Peterson....
