Geeeeeeez.....it could be worst than I first thought after Google searching for symptoms of tendon inflammation around the knee cap. I hope Tracy McGrady is not getting patella tendonitis (or known as Jumpers Knees), or else it could be nagging and chronic....and take months to rehabilitate. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/knee/indexjumpersknee.html
Well it all depends on why there is inflamation. Overuse, a strain. If is Tendonitis then it can be chronic but if there is no structural damage then some anti-inflamatory medication and 2-3 weeks rest are the usual cure.
Its not thats what Dwayne Wade had and what Randy Foye is going through at the moment. If it was that, he wouldnt be playing at all. Because he would be in much worse pain
I've had knee inflammation a couple times in recent recent years. It hurt like a mofo at first (and yes I IMMEDIATELY did get an MRI for it...) Ibuprofen, antibiotics and 3 weeks rest was what I was prescribed. Nothing structural at all. It just randomly flares up on some people time to time... Not saying its the exact same as McGrady's though... But it CAN be a chronic WORSE TYPE injury when you DONT GET IT CHECKED OUT. I know McGrady doesnt want face the reality he's becoming a worn down old man but geez...so what he's been "right all along about it", he's got some of the best medical assistance available to him, he should USE IT. He still wasn't going to win no matter what decision he made, whether he played through it or sat out
I hope that T-mac would not return to the lineup next game. I really want to see them how to play without him.
You don't have to hope for it. He said it at the end of the loss to Detroit Pistons already that he will have to skip the next game.
he'll be fine. it's something that will slowly get better over time, but it will flare up on a back-to-back for sure. i think he'll play friday.
it's a shame. i remember something tracy said right after he was taken out of a game for the first time this season. he said it was a goal for him to play in every single game of the season. that, and with all the talk of how injure-prone he is, had to have made this much worse than it should have been.
I ran four years of college track and i've had inflammation in both my knees and ankles before. It's treatable. I was still able to run relatively pain-free due to ibuprofen, rehab and pre/post-activity treatment. Not saying my situation is exactly similar but based upon the reports i've read I can empathize with what he's going through right now.
I rather him stay out completely than coming in and out during games. And someone else said it best: the best xmas gift is trade him
Srious or not, this is hampering our motion offense. making him the playmaker, first option, dont make sense at all. To make him a vital or cental part of every game, is something that we need to change moving forward. tmac can't lead us to the next level, period. we need change in our system. or better, let tmac play in the 4th quarter if we are struggling to finish. give himl limited but quality time.
Glad to hear that Tracy's knee is OK. Can't wait for him to get on the court and start showing up all the sunshine patriots that belong to this BBS.
