I really like "Good Eats" starring Alton Brown. He usually has some good to great recipes for almost everything and besides that he breaks down the foods history, science behind it, and even gives those quirky facts before commercial breaks. I watch it whenever I can. What's your favorite?

I really like "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" despite the fact that host Guy Fieri is a monumental douche.

The two greatest food shows ever are the PBS docs "A Hotdog Program" and "Sandwiches That You Will Like".

Dunno the name of it, but its this white guy with glasses. He always cooks up cool crap in different ways. Last time he made some mashed potatos that looked like macaroni and cheese. yummmms! :p

My sister told me about that show. They did a profile on a diner up near them in NJ and she and her family have eaten there several times since.

I never watch the Food Network, but I love watching reruns of Justin Wilson's cooking shows on Channel 8 Saturday mornings.

Top Chef.. Food Network's gotten really gimmicky over the last few years, and has really started to de-emphasize cooking.

Same here. We kinda "rediscovered' it since getting FOODHD. Everything looks that much yummier in HD.

Alton Brown is the man. He and Rachael Ray are carrying Food Network right now. Emeril has been relegated to the back burner (pun intended) for a couple years. Alton turned into a ****** during the filming of the second Feasting on Asphalt, but I guess riding on a motorcycle and eating nothing but fried food for a month will do that to you.

    Giada DeLaurentis - hawt!
    Ingrid Hoffmann - HAWT!
    Nigella Lawson - HAAAAAAAAWT!

Food Network definitely needs to have a cooking special where those three make dinner in their underwear. I guarantee that would get the highest ratings ever...

I can't stand watching that show just because of Guy. But watching Sandra Lee and Giada makes everything better.

Good Eats is on another planet compared to everything else.

Sandra Lee is part of my cancer-prevention regimen.

I don't know if these are broadcast at all anymore but I liked the original Japanese Iron Chef. I couldn't stand the US Iron Chef and didn't really like the dubbed Food Channel Iron Chef. There was just something far more entertaining watching it in Japanese especially when the requisite Japanese starlet would say "ooo creamo.."

Also liked Hells Kitchen. Just entertaining to watch the chef dish out abuse on the contestants.

    Duh..........No Reservations

I have a bit of a weakness for Top Chef though.

And although I don't really watch Iron Chef America, I have watched the last few episodes of the NEXT Iron Chef America (or whatever it is called) because I learned that John Besh is on there. I didn't actually get to see the last episode as I was on vacation, but I know that Besh made it to the final two. Not surprising...........NONE of the current Iron Chefs can hold his jock strap. They may have made more money, but they don't make better food.

Top Chef is by far the best food show, despite its questionable editing and emphasis on characters.

But I never pass up a chance to check out that hot little spinner Giada De Laurentiis.
