Video Game Graphics vs Real-Life: Can You Tell The Difference?

    The following quiz contains 15 sets of pictures, mostly comparing Gran Turismo 5 (the latest in a popular series of racing video games) with "real" pictures of cars. The goal is to spot the GT5 picture (AKA, the "fake").

    I got a score of 14, but mostly because I've seen most of the GT5 pictures, which isn't really fair (otherwise, I would have done MUCH worse). In fact, I saw this posted on a gaming forum where most people scored high because they've seen the pics before (like me), so I'm curious to see how well some people would do if they hadn't seen the same pics before.

    Got an 11, never seen pics of GT since the 3d one aspec that i played on the ps2.

    The shadows aren't very impressive...that's how i could tell. ...from the ones i got right.

    Car detail was amazing though.

    Wow... I got an 8.

    I've had the feeling for awhile that the next generation of consoles will be when games will become near-indistinguishable from real life, but GT has always been ahead of its time graphically, so it's no surprise they achieved this effect on this generation of systems.

    That was ridiculous though...very impressive. I watched a couple trailers on one of the tvs at gamestop. Amazing.

    I got 7

    But...

    1) The GT images might have been from a cinematic, not from actual game play.

    2) The pictures are made in such a way as to be very limiting on what is visible (cropping and blurriness affect the images greatly).

    all of the 'cinematics' that have been released are rendered real-time in-engine...it's not like they are CGI FMVs
