EA NBA Live 08 Rocks look good and roster doesn't have Scola!

I'll buy both and play the better version.
Aldough I was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Live 05 ,06 was horrible and then I played 2K6.
When 2K7 arrived I played but not for long cause I'm more keen on 07.
2K8 OR LIVE 08?
XBOX 360 OR PS3?
We can talk days and days.

360 or ps3? I own both consoles but I rarely play ps3 simply because theres no game to play. yep 360 all day every day.

I am still bitter about VSPAN but hey he landed us Scola so my hopes are still high. An interesting note about last year's game. I traded for SF3 and play Luther at the 2. I play a 2 man game with Luther and Francis and Luther McGrady having Yao go to the high post. Luther is left wide open every time and is often the highest scorer. I think this year he will really show us something. I am along time Rockets fan, I had season tickets in the early 80's when I lived in Houston, my sisters went to UofH with Cylde and Hakeem. I don't live in Houston anymore but I Houston has always been my team. Through all that I can honestly say that I am more excited the start of this year then the start of any other year. Adelman's motion offense. Steve Francis coming home, MJ's back, and of course Aaron Brooks and Scola. Hopefully Bonzi can contribute this year as well.

i know that argentina is one of the FIBA teams included in the game. whats scola rated at on live?

Well that FIBA thing sounds pretty cool.

I'm not sure what to get either.. Live08 or 2k8.. I'm not even sure weather to get a 360 or a ps3 =/. *Shrugs

I used to be a big live fan, I think it was the year when sega made 2k3 for xbox when the game actually stand toe to toe with live. live 02 was the best, live03 sucks.

pretty much from that point on live sucks more and more every year compare to the sk series.

Originally, on the PS2, I thought that Live was way better than the 2KSeries. But it seemed like the Live series would get worse and worse every season.

Finally, when the games came out on new systems like 360 and PS3, Live just wasn't bearable anymore. The gameplay is horrible and hopefully, EA has made strides to make some improvements. Otherwise, I will still stick with 2K

Although Live 08 (demo) plays much better than Live 07, it still doesn't even match NBA 2K7. You'd think with all this time that EA would step up their game but that isn't even the case. Regardless, NBA Live is always a big seller. They could put out Live 06 with roster updates plus a paint job and it probably would sell just as much, if not more than 2K. It doesn't matter though, 2K is going to be amazing. I'm excited about the revamped Association mode. IMO, that was one part of the game that needed lots of work and I'm glad they addressed it.

I hated live 07, but I liked the demo. The player movements are better, the controls are a little tighter and it plays like a sim not like arcade. Im gonna buy it. 2k8 can eat my ass.

yeah in live when u get the rebound u go through the glass sometimes haha and the subsitutions were messed up also

Always been a Live fan, but only till 2005. NBA live 2005 was by far the best live made. Everything before n after that sucked bad. I think Live should use 2005 n improve the graphics n tweak some plays.

Not only is there a possibility that he will be on the Rockets, but its almost a done deal that he is on The Argentina Fiba team. HE needs to re-do the title of this thread as it is VERY mis-leading!!!!

Scola will be on the Fiba roster and you can draft him to the team if he's not already on there. Your just lazy, usually in the first week they have a roster update to download. Last year Chuck Hayes wasnt in the game, untill the update. THe team will be complete, just to give a educated answer to the horrible title of this thread!

I know the Rosters are not released, I am sure he will be added to the final release of the game. In the demo you can see the stregths of the each team and not the Rosters. The Rockets are rated very well in all positions except PF. Which is why I assumed that the MVP Scola was not added yet.

Didn't mean to be misleading in my thread title or even show preference to NBA Live. I am just syched about the season and it is always good to see the Rockets get some respect.

He wasn't in the 2K game either that year. Yoa hadn't officailly signed until mid-October and the rosters for the games are usually accurate as of mid-September. He was available for download but it didn't look anything like him. I ended up just creating my own Yao and putting him on the team, otherwise I'd be stuck with Cato or Collier manning the center position.

Is everyone using the PS3 or the XBox 360? I want to upgrade, but can't decide which one to go with. I can't imagine the graphics of 2K8 will look near as good on the PS2 as they do in the pics in this thread.

A little rant, I know this is not really a big thing but it bugs me that 2k7 they messed up some of the uniforms. Like, the rockets for example, the collar color is wrong.. It bothers me that those simple details is being overlooked. Ok, I feel better now..
