Dali's artwork is at the Hirshorn museum and is focused around optical illusions. You should check it out if your in town. About 60 pieces. It's easy to get into the show and there is some freaky work on display. The guy had a great deal of talent and it's weird when your looking at a rock, a face, and a dog in a single object. Freaky, but good.

For those of you that hate the IMAX. I liked it. I saw the 3-d Galapaggos movie at the IMAX (at the Natural Museum of History). Really cool. Feels like your on the island and the lizards are looking right at you. 6$ for about 30-40 minutes. I'd give it an A.

Galapaggos is also at the 3D IMAX at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Those of you in Houston who haven't been there in a while, I recommend it--it's definitely a good Saturday afternoon date spot. Besides the IMAX, they also have the tropical rainforest where they have butterflies hatching all the time (kinda cool), and of course, they have an awesome new aquarium. After Moody Gardens, I recommend lunch at the Pheonix or dinner at Rudy & Paco's (both on or near the Strand), and then maybe a martini at 21. Galveston is working hard to clean itself up and become a nice place to visit. They've made great strides, and I recommend checking the town out.

Did you guys hear about the latest IMAX movie? Supposedly "low profile" Michael Jordan is the subject of the latest one.

Not sure if I'm glad or sickened.

Dali was a great technician, but there are better surrealist artists out there. Magritte was much more original, as was Ernst.

I haven't seen their work before, but I'll check 'em out. From what I heard Dali was accepted by the "surrealists" at a very young age.

Very nice, Jeff.
Phi Slam:
He was in his mid 20's when he really became involved with the Surrealists. Probably the reason he is the most well known of the bunch was because he literally tried to live a surrealist life. Everything he wrote, everything he did was basically in character. Led many to believe he was insane (which instantly glamorizes an artist - look at Van Gogh).
