http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/4828214.html Video on right hand side. Looks like Hakeem is showing Yao some of his old moves. I'm loving this.
dude, isn't Dream just showing what we've all been complaining about the whole year? Do the quick scoring move instead of waiting for the defense?? Dream is telling Yao, "No, just 1 dribble". I'm happy someone's telling Yao this, happens to be the Dream! is it me, or Dream still looks quick!

what I saw... makes me hope there will be a reduction in fade aways next year... always interesting to see what a future HOF will do and say....
I don't know if Yao can use some of Dream's moves. He's just not quick enough. A lot of Hakeem's moves were based on quickness, which isn't really Yao's strength.
sensational to see put Dream on the payroll Les for goodness sake. Seems as though both parties would be keen get 'er done!!
No he didnt.... he was just slower than hakeem!!! Yao cant be hakeem....but Yao has that finess to be a good shooter and play some of hakeems moves and shots.
I'm sure Yao can replicate all Dream's move in practice. It just that in the real game setting, he's not quick and fluid enough to pull it off. I just hope he can use that baseline turnaround more like Dream did instead of turning into the middle EVERY time it's so freaking predictable.
From that video, it looks like the biggest difference (aside from the fact that Dream was capable of pulling those moves off with lightning quickness in his prime) is stride length. Dream uses only one dribble and takes huge strides toward the basket or away from the opponent to get an open shot. It looks like Yao typically needs more dribbles because his tree-trunk legs lack the flexibility to take such long strides. EDIT: It's either that or he needs to break the habit of taking little steps.
between barkley killing bavetta and hakeem in that video, it's amazing how fast and athletic former nba guys are in real life when they looked so slow and old in the their last years.
well that quick 1-dribble move he is teaching is probably the best weapon against double teams.. attack before the double team arrives
