It doesn't. That's the point. One door on the BBS doesn't really serve a purpose. Getting through yet? lol.

If they had a "feedback forum" at their house, yes, I would. Any other bright questions?

So Dr Of Wincing at the site of the entry page,
Whenever you go to restaurants, do you ALWAYS fill out the feedback forms or do you just leave them alone unless something unusual happens to make you fill them out?
I think complaining about a little entry page that costs you at most a second or two is being very picky.
Then again, I shouldn't be surprised that this is coming from a Level 18 mage...

I think it was great when you used to have the intro page with sound (EDDIE.. AT THE BUZZER.. YEAHHHHH!)
That is what the intro page is missing now.
The better question is, what would be the ideal soundbite to include on the intro page?

If something unusual happens, yes, I fill them out. I've actually called and complimented waiters to management when nothing unusual has happened, too. I complain when something is annoying at restaurants. So there.

I wasn't complaining about this site specifically as it's rare that I go to www.clutchcity.net - the main page. (I do, but usually by accident). I was speaking about sites in general.

Actually I lied. I'm now a level 22 dual-wielding Kensai. I have no idea how good that is, but I can kick arse! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Actually I agree it would be nicer to type in www.clutchcity.net and get right to the meat/potatoes... I initially designed it like this many years ago because there was a frames and a non-framed version.
The reason it is still like that is I've always wanted the ability to do some sort of flash intro (possibly something more exciting in the future)... by cutting right to the chase, that intro chance is sort of lost.
But I'm willing to listen to feedback on this and if the vast majority want it gone, I can work on changing everything to a direct format...

The plain, click-thru entry page is pointless. If there's gonna be an entry page it oughta point to something cool.
I like the current flash intro. why not just point www at that until you have something better?
Altho,,, 27,000 page views/day , 1500 bbs members, sounds woefully out of date.

Clutch, decide the old fashioned way, put it to a vote! Make a poll, run it for a couple of weeks, and whatever wins stands.....or just do whatever you want because you are the chief.

Depending on the web site design... I think he may need it to get picked up by several of the search engines.

While we're talking about bookmarks, does anyone else here besides me have an entire folder in their favorites devoted to ClutchCity? I have all the forums with their own bookmark, as well as the front page and the forums summary page.
The one page I don't have a bookmark for is www.clutchcity.net . Ironic, isn't it?

I'm fine with the Intro page, it was nice to see the first couple times I entered the site, and is nice to see the "Stay Humble, Stay Hungry" text when we "Go Retro".

If you're looking for some eye candy on the front page, get dave Cerbero or whoever to design something.

computers are so smart. for some reason around site visit # one billion, it added a little html page in the extra menu space on my start--> pullright. Above Programs and Napster and Winzip is a pretty little html icon that says Clutch city on it.
I just shove my mouse towards the start button, click and pull a few mms and let off and *pop* my wittle bitty bwoser shows up.. awwwww.
Just in case I accidentally did it myself and you're actually going to click on clutchcity a billion times to see if your computer does it too, let me just point out how to manually do this:
1. create a shortcute for the page
2. navigate to your windows or winnt directory, drilldown to profiles, your user name, your start menu.
3. copy your witty bitty shortcut into this place.
4. click the start menu, and pull; or hit windows key and an arrow and enter
5. smile!

Thats nice Achebe but with OS X you just go to a page, hit add to dock and you'll have a direct link.

I say keep the intro! The best sight on the internet deserves some kind of introduction, you shouldn't just come right in.
Like when you go to a really nice restaurant, you don't just go sit down. You are greeted by people first and then seated. Thats what the intro is, sort of a greeting to visitors.
