As far as the Rockets are concerned, Les is like what was once said of George W. Bush, a man who was born on third base but thought he hit a triple.

PS you should not answer the poll if you were born in the mid 80's or later or are only a rox fan cause of Yao.

PPS, if you picked option 2 you are an idiot.

The same Charlie Thomas who accused Hakeem of faking an injury and almost blew our opportunity for back to back championships?

Les is the greatest owner in Houston pro sports history.

Could someone describe Les and Thomas? A little history (objective) would be nice

He drafted Hakeem and had the Pattersons in charge - who assembled the championship team (and brought in Dawson).

The foundation of the title was 100% built by Thomas' men.

    Plus -- HE SOLD CARS

You're right, Charlie and Hakeem had their differences - BUT THEY IRONED THEM OUT.

This is what happened, when LES did not see eye to eye to hakeem:

Thanks LES for this beautiful image!

Les turned the Rocket Power Dancers into a bunch of PETA shills. Cause his (ex) wife told him to.

    WHIPPED!

He is no man, but a vegan mouse.

Didn't Charlie try to trade Hakeem to the Clippers for Danny Manning?

He tried, but they ultimately didn't pull the trigger - because they saw the light.

Les did not hesitate! Ship him off to Canada!

Les don't you know, Hakeem hated NYC because it was too cold, that's why he didn't go to St. Johns.

BUT YOU SHIP HIM TO ONTARIO! ONTARIO! Kingston Ontario makes Jamaica Queens look like Kingston Jamaica!

    Cruel.

Uhh, I was born in 1984. That's mid-80s, but even I didn't pick Les. I do NOT think Les is that good of an owner; don't forget that he just lucked into those 2 championships. Regardless, I suppose it COULD be worse, so I'm not really complaining.

Thomas wouldn't pay Olajuwon what he was worth right? Causing an array of problems? I dont want my Olajuwons disgruntled!

You cant fault Alexander's dedication. He may not make the best decisions but he tries damn hard. Aside from the Lakers the Rockets make a stunning amount of impact acquisitions in attempts to get better. For example...

Mo Taylor- He didnt pan out. But can you blame Les for pursuing him? I thought he was a solid pickup.

Eddie Griffen- Another exciting guy with a lot of potential. A quicker Robert Horry. I would have made the trade too.

Pippen- The trade/FA signing that literally shutdown this place. Yall were all creaming. Cant blame Les.

Bonzi- This guy nearly beat the Spurs single handedly last year. And we got him for so cheap. Excellent try that didnt pan out. Not Alexander's fault.

Willis- Genius signing. His career caught 2nd wind, Barkley would come off the bench. Rockets went from one of the worst rebounding teams to one of the best. We were no longer the Sonics b****.

Barkley- I loved the deal. Yall really think Horry and Cassell would take us somewhere? Ya right...

Shandon Anderson, James Posey, Jim Jackson- I liked em all... Even Derek Anderson seemed logical. I will admit I thought he would contribute a lot more.

    Drexler- nuff said

There are many many more trades I could name. These are relatively big impact transactions. Alexander has a dedication to winning, it doesnt always workout but I doubt any of us had the foresight to say, "geez, Pippen is coming? thats not gonna work". YA RIGHT. At least his heart is in the right place.

Charlie almost traded Dream in his prime, while Les traded Dream instead of letting him retire in Houston.

    Tough choice.

"Born on third base and thought he hit triple." You are the one who deserves the owls. A way with words, I tell you. A way with words.
