From the fraud about Rudy stepping down due to health (he was forced out - I supported it, by the way, but not the fraudulent way it was likely handled)...

...to the fakery about JVG quitting/retiring when it was really Les being too afraid to fire him

Carroll Dawson? Probably forced retirement (again, which I could possibly support) couched as a voluntary decision.

    Stop the lies.

Tell the truth when you make a decision.

We are men of the internet, we can post and photoshop and rant. This is not the 19th century.

    Les bashing: commence

That's because you are a silly sheep who enjoys being lied to.

You can support the decision without supporting hte accompanying lies.

Guys like Les don't think of it as lying. They think of it as diplomacy.

Guys like Van Gundy think of it as b***s***.

    silly sheep? lol

Why am I being lied to?

I want JVG gone, I want Adelman, I mean it could not be better! I would do the same thing Les is doing , but basicaly I would have thrown JVG out of the office!

I agree, if JVG were the CEO of Damler Chrysler and Lies was the board and were forcing "early retirement" he'd be a good company man, swallow his pride, exercise his generous options package (preferably a backdated one) and ride off into a golden parachuted sunset.

But he didn't grow up in that culture. At heart he is an old school coach, something that Les, for all his years in basketball, is stunningly bad at grasping.

I think it is all negotiations - same thing happens in every industry around the world.

I am happy to wait and see what the final outcome is, though I think we all can really discern that ourselves from the merry-go-round that is the Rockets front office.

Who gives a Sh*t about diplomacy here.

I'm with Amel. I want JVG gone and I want Les to hire Adleman.

Like Amel, the only thing I would have done differently is that I would have thrown JVG's sorry but out of the door already and damn sure would not offer him the golden parachutte that the Les is offering.

If you read the Justice article - it's not negotiation at all. He plainly says JVG wanted to come back according to sources. Les, who apparenlty wanted him gone after last season, has apparently planted a ridiculous smokescreen wiht all this "retirement/option/waiting on JVG" crap, just like he did with Rudy.

Regardless of the merits - this kind of thing is bullsh-t. It's les' team, if he wants to hire and fire, than he can do it. Just don't launch this bullsh-t charade which is a misguided attempt at PR - like I said, it's an insult to the fans.

But that's exactly what I'm advocating. If Les wants him gone then he should just do it and spare us all the lies and silliness - it didn't work the first tiem and its not working now. The sheep like Amel would be more than satisfied.

    WORD

    Classless

I have no problem with Rudy being let go OR JVG being let go, but do it the right way, Les.

And also realize that we will never be the Suns with a 7'6 center who plays basketball year round

Like I said in the other thread, JVG was too good to the management. I think most of the guys up there feel kind of emberessed about this whole situation.

I bet a majority of owners in professional sports do not "respect the fans' intelligence."

EXACTLY. It's not the decisions that he has made, it's the way he handles them and lies to everyone to make the Rox look better.

Man up and say I am firing JVG and be done with it.

JVG "I want to come back" = Pay me to shut up or I will rip you guys in the media.

Les "We are waiting on JVG to see if he wants to coach" = We have told JVG he is out, and hopefully he will fall on his sword.

Ego and money is what this is all about.

JVG wants to extract as much cash as possible, and Les wants to avoid spending it.....

JVG will get paid some hush money and the Rockets will have a new coach......

And the fans get left to figure it out.
