No, I would not, but I would also not mind Barnes on the Rockets...is he a Free Agent?

I think he would compare cheaper than many other players who demand a much higher premium. A versatile 2-3 than can hit the 3 and drive, i would take that any day. I think he outplayed Josh Howard for stretches in the game, and was crucial in their defense.

Dumbest idea ever? Possibly so.

Barnes, like any decent player, looks better than he actually is in a freeballing style of play. He would be atrocious in JVG's halfcourt game (or at least not as good as Battier is). Yeah, the Warriors are playing well now, but don't forget they just barely snuck into the playoffs.

Yes, I'm tired of this love affair with Shane. he is a servicable player but i'm sick of hearing how he has all of the "intangibles". that's a fancy word for having no true skills. taking a charge is not a skill. His defense is decent. flame away.

Me too
This guy IMO really is a Good player
but nothing special
His 3 ball isn't automatic
His defense is adequate more effort and technique than speed
I like it but . .some speed and athleticism would be nice

I missed some games. . does he ever post up?
I missed some games . .Does he ever Slash?

What exactly is his position again?

IMO . .. i know folx hate to hear it but
Chuck Hayes is as good as Battier

I can't believe all these stupid trade posts after we lose a game. Get over it already. Utah is a very very tough team. We are the number 4 and 5 seeds. Who didn't expect a very tough series. These two teams are very evenly matched.

By the way, Matt Barnes sucks. He's one of the slowest players on the Warriors and during the regular season he'd have a good game followed by games where he scored in single digits. Go look at his stats and tell me you want him on your team.

why don't you try to give reasons before you bash. Posters like yourself need to grow up and give logical reasons instead of piling on. of course i'm probably dealing with some kid in his middle school library so you're forgiven.

The fact that you think taking charges isn't a "skill" speaks volumes of how little you know about the game of basketball.

It is not easy to be in great defensive position and THEN take a pounding from an oncoming player. Then multiply that by like 4 times per game and you come away with extra possessions on offense all because a guy was willing to sacrifice for the team.....but wait, that's no skill.

It's also no skill to consistently contest shots and dive for loose balls. Look they may not be actual calculated statistics but they still mean A LOT to a team.

Don't get me wrong, I wish Shane would assert himself more offensively because he can easily put up 12-15 ppg every night, but his effort and consistency at the defensive end of the floor is amongst the best in the league.

Battier is the best wing defender in the league, statistically, and objectively. He consistently harasses the best players in the league to poor shooting nights. His rotations are incredible, and his anticipation is among the best in the league. He never gives up on a play, and he almost never makes a bad decision. His entry passes are great, he's the best on the team at re-posting Yao. He is one of the best in the league at tipping an unwinnable rebound out to a perimeter player. He has made saves this year that no one else in the league makes. If you know anything about basketball, you cannot watch the games and not know that.
