Amare won't make it back now. I have debated overand over with a few and I don;t know what you can say about how good he is again.

dunno. but its hard to argue with 41 pts on 16 of 19 shooting. The mavs are no defensive slouch

I just debated and debated with all these posters who told me he was going to be Chris Webber Jr. ect... and now he has come about 90% (not even 100) I wonder what people have to say.

j/k
I'll be the first to admit I didn't think he'd be good this soon again. A lot of it attributes to the fact that he's changed his game a bit. He can step out to 17 ft and hit that jumper with consistency. That has made his transition back to the game easier. He wasn't going to be able to come back just backing down, spinning and jumping over people all the time. Good for him.

a dunk is a very high percentage shot, and Amare apparently found that out a while ago

Word for word. You read my mind. I didn't think Amare would possibly be this good until next season. In fact, I had serious doubts about him when reading about the Suns training camp. That "tough" conversation D'Antoni had with him must have worked. It's like Amare flipped a switch and got with the program.

This Amare that's playing now is the same guy that averaged like 40 ppg against the Spurs in a couple of seasons back.
He's back to being THE 'Man-Child' monster he was before his injury.
I don't understand why people doubt this guy, he's committed and he's relentless and he has the work ethics to be an all-time great.

if he's within 5 feet of the basket, the ball is going IN. the explosiveness is still there. good for him though. he's exciting to watch

He looks comfortable out there again, and it was always his quickness that gave him the advantage...well, he looks a lot quicker than all the other bigs...and now has a sweet jumper from 15 feet.
Gonna be great if his body holds up.

Well I respect the fact that people acknowledge they underestimated him. I'm a Rockets fan but I'm an Amare supporter and it's great to see he's made it back

I tried to tell people to give him some time but they were so quick to wish the worst on him they didn't see he had developed that jumper, become a better passer, defender, and came back with a better understanding of the game.
Hey, the don't win without Nash's 10 in 60 but they don'teven stay in the game with Stat's 12 straight shots

why do people keep acting like amare just added a jumper this season? is it just seeing what you want to see to make the comeback easier to explain? it was money the season before he got hurt. that's why he was torching tim duncan in the WCF. b/c the jumper got to be so good that duncan was having to respect it and every time he did, amare would just blow by him and dunk it. he's had this jumper for a while, we were just waiting for the explosion to come back. and as much as i don't like the suns, it's good to see microfracture is apparently not going to slow him down. he's a beast and the nba is better for having him dunking on everybody and tearing stuff up.

Amare makes the game fun to watch. I missed him while he was injured.

I'd like to see the response of YOFs that wish injuries and failures on Amare's career. look at what happened to Yao this season and how well Amare is doing right now. Karma's a biatch, I guess!

I still think he was more explosive before he was hurt. Two years ago, he was dunking over players night in and night out. Right now he does that a lot less. He probably still worries about his knee.
But I can't say which Amare is better? Right now, his jumper is better, he defense actually improves a little bit. He still has to work on his rebounding though. I give him a D on that.

the main reason is because if you don't get up on him, he'll shoot it. if you get up on him, he's going to dunk right over you cause he's so quick.
yao is a different player. yao has a good jumper, but that has never been his function. He posts up rather than face the basket. Some people have argued he should stand outside more and shoot the face up jumper, but that will only work if yao has the same quickness as an amare. he's just not like that. What he's doing is utilizing his size, and i believe that should be what he needs to concentrate on
