I'm not the only person who keeps thinking about this, but hes to value to the Rockets. and when he shoots 1 shot the whole game ( the other couple of shots came in garbage time ) then that should piss everyone off. Shane shows glimpes of excellence when hes on but then he disappears the next game. so again Shane Battier sucks until he learns how to play good from game 2 game hes a veteran.
Um it's not all about offensive stats...he happens to be one of the best defenders in the NBA right now, probably better than Kobe
Shane has shown everyone that hes also a offensive player when he puts his mind into it. the Rockets traded Gay for Battier not because of Defense but because of his offense to which disappears from game 2 game.
Idiot because i speak the truth? we all know Shane can put up offensive #'s when he wants to. so again you guys need to grow a brain or 2.
You have a habit of making posts on this board that are disrespectful to our players or team overall. Are you purposely trying to be a troll, or are you just naturally an ass?
LOL @ him getting bashed for talking down on Shane. When a team loses, you can't just blame one person. Its a team sport and the whole team needs to take blame for the loss. I didn't see the game since I don't live in H-Town, but from the box score, it looked like the team, including our two stars, just didn't play well. Anyhow, I just think we don't match up while with the Suns and am glad that San Antonio will knock them out in the second round for us! Let's Go Rockets!.....Let's Go Rockets!.....Let's Go Rockets!....Let's Go Rockets!
Actually i have a habit of putting some hope in this board. i was the one who said the Rockets will be alright when Yao got hurt. and everyone knows it.
You don't speak the truth, what your post shows is that you don't understand how this team is set up and better yet, you have proven that you don't understand the game of basketball in general. Shane Battier is not our PRIMARY scorer. He was not brought to this team to put up offensive numbers. If we wanted offensive numbers, we could have just keep Rudy Gay and let him toss up 17 shots a game and score 15+ points. However, Shane was brought in so that T-Mac wouldn't have to guard the other team's best player and waste his energy on defense. Why don't we want him to waste his enegy on defense? Because he is our PRIMARY scorer. So just because Shane can put up offensive numbers doesn't mean thats what the Rockets want from him or that's what his game is. Plus, his role in the offense is to spot up and take an open shot or make the extra pass to the open players. In order for him to get open shots, our stars need to be playing well so that teams are doubling them.
dude, the guy has laker as part of his handle, self explanatory...he's probably from one of the lakers bbs...so it's not really a reach to say... He's an IDIOT.
Actually i have league pass because of the Rockets i like how they play there preach for defense is something i wish the Lakers can do. but if people are gonna crap on Rafer's consistency how bout we do the same with Battier's?
well speaking of consistency, maybe you should watch more rockets games with your league pass then. Maybe you'll see how consistent Shane Battier is. And as for your Lakers, they suck.
I'm one of the few who agrees that Shane disappears on offense way too often. But he doesn't "suck". Beyond any shadow of doubt Shane is our 3rd best player after the two stars and is very valuable to our success. If you had titled the thread something like "Shane disappears on offense again" and didn't use the term "suck" in your opening post, the reactions to your point would have been discussion instead of ridicule. In the future, I suggest being more factual and less emotional, especially when starting threads. Earlier in the season, I used the term "lazy" to describe Shane's offense in several games. To be an all-around player, you must help the team on both ends of the floor. On offense, if you aren't either trying to get into scoring position or trying to help someone else into position, you are hurting the team. Too many times Shane would focus nearly all of his energy on defense and then give much of it back on the other end by not working his defender enough. I also said he should be fined $10,000 each time he passes up an open 3 from the corner. When Yao and Tracy are dominating a game, being deferential is usually OK. When both players are off, Shane must take more than 4 shots or he is part of the problem also.
Thanks. am glad you know how it feels when Injuries amount or wait the Rockets never got injured last year. so maybe instead of slamming the door on my face how bout we just agree to disagree. i know Shane can do better and thats all i'm saying.
