The only other guy who comes to mind is Paul Pierce, but man does Tmac take some horrible shots. JVG might have to put the foot down a bit. I mean 32 shots, 5 fta???? What r u doing Tmac? This is where Kobe and Dwade seperate themselves.

    no just tonight

he needs to drive to the bucket on his first possession to open up his jumper. instead he did the opposite tonight

It's more difficult for him to drive with Yao in the paint.

Tmac is a shooter and u cannot do much to completely change his game. Just like you cannot change your personality much. Shooters will have some bad shooting nights, but good shooters will have more good shooting nights than the bad ones, this is what seperates Tmac from the others.

I disagree...Yao can come out and set picks better than Mutumbo can, and having a scorer like Yao down low makes theother teams C more reluctant to leave him to help on Mcgrady. If anything it should be easier to drive the lane with Yao back.

yeah yao's presence really should have no effect on tracy's driving. if mutombo didn't clog the lane, i don't see why yao can't get out of the way. i was disappointed that there wasn't much pick and roll tonight, though. or rather, there was plenty of picking and rolling, but not alot of passing to the roller. the tmac-yao pick and roll is by far our best weapon and it always boggles me when we don't run the crap out of it.

He jacks up quite a few threes when just bringing the ball up the court and then launching a 3 with like 20 secs on the clock.

While this may be true, this was not the case tonight. They did run a couple of pick and rolls with Yao, but his foot speed is not ready to be effective all game. It'll be like this for a week or so. It's coming though.

It is kind of a catch 22, with Mcgrady. You will not criticize him when he makes those shots that he jacks up when he has those good nights. But when he is off people will say, "Mcgrady is taking bad quality shots". I know it sucks when he misses them but as far as I am concerned he has free reign to shoot whenever and whereever especially since no one else on the team can shoot.

Yeah, much the same with LeBron tonight. Some of the shots he took were ridiculous on the level-of-difficulty scale, but he made them. LeBron took a couple of threes fading to his left with a hand in his face. Bad shot if he misses, amazing shot if it goes in.

I'm not crazy about his shot selection but I wouldn't say it's the worst. He does need to take it to the hoop more.

I remember the other night I was looking at the shot chart after a game against the heat. You can see Tmac didn't take any (not one) shot at the rim. Most of his shots were close to the arc, while most of Wade's shot were inside of the arc and half of them were around the basket.

Both are premier SGs in the league, but the shot selections are so different.

I've criticized his shot selection and will continue to do so. Just because LeBron has the same problem sometimes doesn't excuse Tracy trying to take the easy way out so much with the overabundance of 3 pointers and difficult fadeaways. Like I said another time, it seems like he is testing his skillset instead of just trying to score on a particular possession. Other times, he just isn't patient enough. More than anything else, shot selection is why he will never be MVP of the league. He's said in the past he doesn't care about his shooting percentage, and it shows.

Tracy is a great player and his combination of skillset, passing ability and athleticism is second to none. But he doesn't use those things as well as he could. I know some will try to defend him, but 32 FGAs (with only 5 FTAs) is atrocious, especially when he hits only 10. He bailed out the Cavs defense all night by chucking up so many outside shots.

yes his shot selection can be questioned at times, but have u watched kobe? fadeaways from the baseline opposite of the basket??? AI??

dude that is what makes them great. they take and MAKE the toughest shot. it's just a bad shooting night. didn't kobe go 11-29 yesterday v. the suns. my god relax.

and in the 4th, most of his jumper was OFF THE SCREEN. that shot is his bread and butter and his money shot. i let him take that EVERY time if he wants to. no one can stop that shot. sure u want him to drive. but when u have yao AND Z (2 big ass 7-5) people in there, it's tough.

there is a difference b/t deke and yao when they're in there. yao is VERY slow to mvoe out of the way and he basically brings another guy to him b/c of the double team. deke doesn't. so it's more clogged in there. and i do admit tracy shies from contact at time but he has a reason to. u dont want him to go recklessly in there like wade. tell me when wade's quickness goes down and his J doesn't improve, where he will be at?

tmac wants to PROLONG his career too u know. jordan only avg 6-7 ft attempts during his championship years and there's a reason for that. his fadeaways was his go to move. now it's tmac's jumper off the screen.
