I'm buying a new car soon, and one of the options is either XM or SIRIUS radio. I'm definitely interested in satellite radio, but which one is better? Which has better sound quality, programming, etc.? The SIRIUS option is for a lifetime subscription. It's more expensive than the XM option. Lifetime subscription worth it? Gonna be about $900 installed.
Do a search this has been talked about before. Sirius is the one that has Howard Stern on it, so if I was to get Sat. Radio, I would go with XM.
It will all be the same pretty soon. I've heard that Sirius had slightly better sound quality (and Howard Stern), so I would definitely go with them.
I've had both, and imho Sirius blows XM outa the water. Since they will merge by the end of the year, it really doesn't matter. We'll be getting the best of both worlds.
Wack Pack feed back, now that Sirius and XM have merged, we asked the Wack Pack what the new name should be... Wendy the r****d: This is Wendy the r****d. I think the new name should be uhh... Jessica. I like that name. Riley Martin: This is Riley Martin. The name should be Sirion ha-ha-ha Blue Iris: This is Blue Iris and the name should be Howard Stern cause I would like to suck his ****. King of All Blacks: Yo. I think the new name should be surge like power surge but yall gonna ignore it cause I'm a *****. Jeff the Drunk: I don't give a flying ****. btw, Mel Karmazin was on the show and he said they're not going to have a new name...it's going to be either XM or Sirius or a combination of those two.
YUP! i think that's good for us SIRIUS people cause we will have more radios (factory or 3rd party) to choose from, and the XM folk get NBA, NFL.
And if they merge, we don't know how content & pricing will be affected. We also don't know how fast the content and pricing changes will go into effect. Example: It's been mentioned new receivers will be made that will get both Sirius and XM content. This implies you will be locked in to one or the other if you buy a receiver now. My advice is DO NOT ASSUME the receiver you buy now will ever be able to get all channels from both companies because that is doubtful. Over time, a good number of channels will be merged, but it could be a while. Make your decision based on what exists now because that's what you will get for a while. Of course, there is also the unlikely possibility the merger fails.
According the the Sirius CEO, he would cap prices if a merger was approved. Even when prices do eventually go up, I'm sure it will stay at $14.99 for a long time (thats such a pretty number) http://www.reuters.com/article/industryNews/idUSN2846946320070301
The prank calls are worth $12.95. Check this out. Sal calls a guy with a Sentra for sale. He tells the guy his father would like to buy the car. Then he calls another guy with a Sentra for sale, tells the guy his father would like to buy the car, and joins the calls. Hilarity ensues. Or how about this...Richard calls up a guy. Then he creates voice clips for the guy. Then he calls the guy and uses the voice clips to talk to the guy. The guy is talking to himself but doesn't realize it.
