Sorry Clutch. I know there is a trade sticky, but felt these poignant comments need to be highlighted.

If this keeps up, the Rockets are going to be able to put their own Greek national basketball team on the court. The Rockets now have every Greek citizen currently playing in the NBA on their roster.

"It will give someone for Billy to bitch to, so that will be good," said Jeff Van Gundy. "We'll just sit him right over there and Billy can bitch to him about how he's getting screwed. That will be good."

When he was informed that nobody in downtown Athens was erecting statues to him these days, JVG smiled and said, "I like Billy a lot more than they like me."

hoping that v-span and van gundy have a relationship where they can joke about things like this. as in maybe the media reports got blown out of proportion, otherwise I would assume someone's days on this team are numbered.

I love JVG, and his quotes are sometimes classic, but this time...

I hope this doesn't put any more strain on their relationship. I'm rooting for VSPAN, I hope he develops into something great for this team.

it sounds like typical van gundy humor. more likely that him and spanoulis have talked and he's comfortable to joke about it, then it being something malicious.

Amazing to hear JVG say something like this in a public forum after everything seemed to have settle down.

Obviously VSpan is still making noise, will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next week or so.

I agree. I think jvg is just playing with the media. who knows what their relationship is really like ever since that interview billy gave. I would guess it is relatively good since he came out and made a comment like this and never made one this blunt with a guy like bonzi....ya know what I mean?
