Beginning tomorrow, this team will play every Western Conference seed 10 or higher except Golden State over the next few weeks.

And the two at the bottom - Minnie and Sac-town, will be road games where both of those teams have winning records. Oh, and beyond playing Utah, Phoenix, Dallas, SA, Lakers, and Denver (x2), we get to play Chicago in Chicago where they have a nice 14-3 home record.

That's a brutal 10 games without Yao. The bloodshed doesn't end until the end of the month when we get Portland at home.

So, what to expect from our team without Yao?

Without Yao, we can forget about beating SA. That's just not going to happen. I think if we pull off a 5-5 record here we've done an amazing job of weathering a severe storm without our best player and we have a lot to be hopeful for, especially if we somehow manage to pull of a victory against Phoenix - our greatest nemesis of late.

Of course, we could easily go 2-8.

I guess we'll get to see how good these Rockets really are now. A championship team without it's star player can still win a lot of games. If this team goes anything above .500 - then I think we have to feel really good about our chances.

But a 1-9 record means we're definitely not elite.

Dude we blew out SA at their home without tmac. Its going to be tough but if tmac is playing the way he has in the past three games, I fear no one

When T-Mac imposes his will on the game, I'll always believe we have a chance to win the game no matter who we're playing.

Point well taken. What are the back-to-backs for Rox and opponents during this sked run?

dude, nothing is for certain in this league. plus was have mcgrady. with the way he's playing we've got a chance in every game we play. we could win every game. it's not likely, but you can never say what will happen before it does happen.

I hate b2b's when the other team is well rested. Of course.

Hopefully Bonzi will be back from his injury by then. We could definately use his help along with Kirk Snyder. He is just what we need at the 2 guard.

    this is where fun begins...

when tmac was out and yao was playing, we were still dominating during the first 3 quarters and eventually losing by blowing our 10+ leads. And we were playing against big teams that time.

Tmac is a good finisher. if we can only stay in the game until the last 3 minutes of the game, we have a better chance of winning.

On the other hand, Yao is not a pretty good finisher but an outstanding starter. So we got a solid combo if Yao comes back healthy.

This is a good thread. I was about to start one like this.

Any way, the schedule ahead does not look easy. But you never know what gonna happen in the game, which means all are winnable. Worse case might happen, but we still get chance when yao come back.

Lets keep this thread going and count the game we win till Portland Game.

    I guess 6 wins.

Definitely! With Yao without T-Mac, we can win a 40mins game, but the end of the game is heartbeating. Yao contribute a lot to ensure us a huge lead, but he is not a good game finisher because of his stamina problem and double teamed on him. T-mac is a good finisher, but without Yao, I'm so afraid of a deficit and there is no chance for T-Mac to show his finisher skill.
Yes, we win last 4 games in streak, but real challenge is coming soon.

We can't be judged by this stretch at all. Our team is built on 2 superstars and one is missing. We're not like Detroit or Dallas or Phoenix in terms of depth.
We're also missing our 3rd best player

I'd be ecstatic with 4 wins during that stretch. All we need to do is stay a few games above 500 by the time Yao returns

We already handled SA ithout TMac and only 20 minutes of Yao. Anything can and does happen in the NBA. If the Rockets are cohesive they can beat anyone in the league...just like most every other team.

That would be awesome. After that we have 40 games left most of them against weaker teams. If we go 27-13 during that stretch, we have a 52 win season

all the teams we play have lost and will lose to teams that are worse than us without tmac, anything can happen in this league, we just have to be more prepared and play with more passion and energy than the other team, and ofcourse execute both defensivly and offensivly
