Ever since Chuck took Shaq out, the Heat have been in a tailspin.

Now Riley is threatening to cut people and eat contracts because they are "crap[ping] on the franchise." He is clearly cracking.

DWade is looking like TMac in his last season in Orlando.

Chuck Hayes may be the guy who has made the most impact to a team this season.

And the legend of the Electricuted One grows...

You reap what you sow, and Riley got all his karma together by stabbing a loyal coach in the back and bringing in the all-cancer team in Zo, Payton, and Walker. All 3 of those guys are legitimatly bad personalities at this stage in their career (Walker has been virtually the entire time, but hey).

No surprise whatsoever that half the team is trying to take a vacation until April, including Shaq. No way he doesn't milk that rehab for an extra month.

I didn't expect the Heat to be a contender this season. Shaq's injury was a big setback. But no way did I expect a Riley-coached team to have such huge motivational issues. I watched part of the game last night and some of it was a glorified practice drill for the Spurs. I knew the Heat had no chance to win the game but for them to give up so early was pretty disgusting. I expect their intensity level to pick up several notches after this tirade but they still won't be a contender even after Shaq comes back. Then again, the East only has 3 teams with winning records right now so maybe anything can happen.

The Heat would be roadkill if they were in the West.

I feel safer with Chuck Hayes back in the lineup. I want to see him take out Duncan and Boozer next.

If only he was a starter in the Utah game, we would have won it. Boozer would be out for the month from a Chuck Hayes foul, and the Utah Jazz would go on a massive Heat-style losing streak.

I heard someone say that the knee that Shaq is having problems with isnt even the same knee that Hayes hit a couple weeks back.

I don't remember who said that, probably someone on the Rockets broadcast or during a TNT game.

Well, if you watched the slo-mo replay of the collision, it *definitely* looked like Chuck got the worst part of it. Seeing his knee overextend backwards made me cringe so bad I had to cover my eyes. I thought his leg would be broken.

I really can't believe the Heat have imploded so badly. They'll be back, of course. But they were playing poorly even before Shaq went out a second time.

No doubt they'll make a turnaround at some point and we'll see lots of articles about "don't count us out" and "we'll win when it counts, like last year"

Obvious question: Why do you say didn't they deserve their championship?

I haven't been on the board nor online much, but what's the news on Hayes?

I ran into him at Bestbuy on Tuesday and he said "I'll be back tomorrow" meaning wednesday (yesterday). Was that a joke he made.. or is his hyperextended knee recovering fast???

i would say its because of the few million foul calls that got dwayne wade to the line.

but i'm glad dallas didnt win. dallas with a ring is just wrong.

He started the game last night.

I think Chuck thought it was worse than it was too, cause he said in that interview on Wednesday that he didn't sleep that Sunday night waiting for the MRI on Monday morning. Thought he would be out for the year.

I agree it didn't look like there was any give to Shaq's knee.

So now they Blame Hayes? Funny.
Shaq made a foul, and injured Hayes in the process. and Hayes gets the blame for Shaq's injury.
