Question: Can Reggie Bush be as good as these two guys? As long as they have?

I must admit these are probably my Two favorite RBs in the League

Warrick Dunn because he was been constantly underrate and an under dog
Plus his Foundation is the best [Houses for Single Moms]
He just seems a Good Guy

    Tiki is the same

    they are both Smallish back
Does Reggie got . .what they have?

at this point I would think he could. Health is always a factor for these types of backs.

Barber and Dunn can run between the tackles.

Reggie Bush will probably be more like a Brian Westbrook. He's a running back that can be a dual threat both as a runner and receiver. In the future, defenses will have to change their gameplan to match up with him and some already are. Bush will also be like Westbrook in the sense that he is more of a catching threat than running, as we are seeing, and that he'll never be a 20+ carry per game back.

    Reggie, Reggie, Reggie

He certainly isn't the best prospect to come out of college in 30 yrs. like ESPN crowned him. He is not Gayle Sayers, Barry Sanders or Tony Dorsett.

But he is very elusive and fast in the open field.

Wouldn't he do better as an every down slot receiver, say like a Steve Smith?

No, they wouldn't. They may be 0-5 and Reggie would have horrible rushing stats as well as less impressive receiving stats. And the defense would be even more porous than they have been.

Not sure if Bush can match up to these two as long as they have, but they sure are two of my favorite NFL players all around.

What do you base this off of?
He's ran the ball 65 times and only has 195 yards. Thats 3 yards per carry. He's caught 38 passes for 285 yards and that averages out to 7.5 yards per catch. He's also fumbled once and has ZERO offensive TD's.

Those numbers would make the Texans 4-1.

Tiki is a tough little workhorse who can handle a lot of touches. He is built thicker in the lower body than Bush or Dunn, he can break more tackles and finish runs harder. This makes Tiki pretty much equally effective between the tackles or in space. Ditto for Clinton Portis--though he isn't quite as tough or the run finisher as Tiki. Despite his size, Dunn has always been extremely instictive between the tackles and tight space, but I don't think he has Bush's top end speed or Tiki's finishing ability.

I agree the Westbrook comparison is the best. Another to throw out there is Willie Parker, though Parker is showing some nice between the tackles game to him as well (though not Bush/Westbrook's receiving skills, but it could be a product of Pitt's offense).

Given his frame (he is fraction off 6 feet) I think Bush needs to add about 10-15lbs lower body muscle to develop into a more dominant between the tackles guy. If he did this he could be as good or better than Tiki, IMO the overall most dominant player of the above guys. But whether Bush could add that lower body weight and keep his burst is an unknown, if I drafted him I would be concerned he hasn't bulked up already.

can anyone name a star running back that has started off this slowly in their NFL career with this much playing time?

i have been trying to find one but i can't. almost every other name i can think of at least scored more than 1 TD and rushed for more than 3 YPC.

Look at how Tiki Barber started. Also, Warrick had some slow years early as well.

Today - not at first, as I recall. Bush will probably also get himself to the point where he has the bulk to smash some, but right now he's way too much of a dancer for an NFL back.

yeah tiki did start slow. it truly is amazing the turn around he has had. but he was also a 2nd rounder. and i really don't remember how tiki was looked at coming out of college. i am trying to think of widely heralded 1st rounders.

the thing with dunn is he got 2000 yards rushing in his 1st 2 seasons and averaged around 4.25 YPC. but he has really come on later in his career in ATL.
