With all the new nick changes occurring, what is your nickname for Eddie! Here's my entry.!

Eddie "The Kid" Griffin

kinda menacing like his chequered past, recognizes him as the 1st kid taken by Rudy/CD, and acknowledges CriscoKidd for winning the bet.

Don't mess with The Kid.

The Dream, Wink, The Cat, The Kid, mooochiieeee

Uhhh...how about if we don't call him "The Kid"...Maybe he should have a nickname that...Oh, I don't know...doesn't sound stupid? I can imagine Eddie Griffin, ten years from now, being called "The Kid" in his early thirties...

If you have to "choose" a nickname for somebody, then it's the wrong one...Think about the great NBA nicknames

The Dream
The Glide
The Stilt
The Pearl
Air
Magic
The Ice Man
Dr. J

Those nicknames just flow off the tongue...Nobody had to sit around and "think" up those names...they just sounded right, and they stuck

Griffin hasn't even played a single minute in the NBA yet, so I think trying to plaster a nickname on him now is a tad premature...After we see him play for a while, after we see what kind of style he has, then a nickname will eventually come for him...If he plays his entire career without a cool nickname (there have been many good players without nicknames, believe it or not), then I don't think Griffin or anybody else will give a flip

Now, I return you back to your regularly scheduled dumb jokes and Simpson Quotes

Besides, "The Kid" is already taken by Kevin Garnett, even though they spell it "Da Kid".

A-Train,

so "Wink" flows off the tongue. lol
And it is kinda silly since The Cat is faster anyhow. Sorta like Air when a teammate can jump higher than you.

No fair mentioning 4 rhymning nicknames.

Besides, this is a stupid ESPN-Berman-esque nicknaming thread, kinda making fun of nicknames. Offer up a nickname you bum.

Besides, "The Kid" is already Billy Wagner's nick in that other
sport in this town.

I like the "Griff" thing, because it pays homage to one of this
city's top sports fans. Ultimately, however, it's going to come
from the players or the media. One of the disadvantages of
coming out so early, not enough time to get a decent nick
developed

Of course, when in doubt, we could always go back to the ever popular "Eddie!".

How about Eddie, in the Oomfoofoo voice from Eddie Murphy's "Raw". That would leave all sorts of options for the announcer's to say "I want half!" which won't make sense out of context. But that shouldn't Calvin from giving it a whirl.

That would be funny as ***** to see Calvin spewing cookie crumbs all over Bill while screaming "I WANT HALF!" I'd pay my cable bill to see that.

Every time I hear "Fast Eddie," I think of that old promo spot on MTV from the mid 80's - "I'm FAST Eddie Clark from FASTway and I want my MTV!"
