PC CivCity: Rome (Historic City-Building) 7/24 Xbox 360: LOTR: Middle-Earth II (Real-Time Strategy) 7/5 Chrome Hounds (Sci-Fi Shooter) 7/11 PS2 Super Dragon Ball Z (3D Fighting) 7/18 PSP: Def Jam: Fight for NY: The Takeover (Wrestling) 7/11 Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light (RPG) 7/18 Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (Action RPG) 7/18 Tekken: Dark Resurrection (3D Fighting) 7/25 Multi: Prey (Sci-Fi FPS) [PC, 360] 7/10 (PC demo here, 360 demo available on XBL as well) NCAA Football 07 (Football Sim) [360, XBX, PS2, PSP] 7/18 Not a lot of games, but some potential hits (not counting NCAA 07 of course). As I noted, there is a Prey demo available for both the PC and 360. I checked out the PC demo, and I thought it was pretty solid and a lot of fun (walking on walls + portals = FUN!). I probably won’t get it right away since I’m kind of burned out on FPS games right now, but I’d recommend checking the demo out at the very least.

Yah last year I'd destroy people with Texas. I think I'll have to try playing with them, but I think Ohio St. might be my new team to run with.
im hyped up to for the Tekken PSP game. Been waiting for one, and was eagering waiting to get Tekken 3 for the PS emu whenever that came out, but that feature where u can play someone regardless if they have the game or not, is pretty freaking awesome.
I'm bored, so I'll post the IGN review for LOTR: Middle Earth II for the 360: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/716/716469p1.html 8.2 at IGN, and currently at 80% at Gamerankings. One thing that seems worrisome is that this appears to be yet another PC port that doesn't really use the 360's horsepower all that well: I'm sure it isn't easy to port these games and get great performance, but there really shouldn't be any reason for the 360 versions of these games to have these issues with graphical performance. It seems like the 360 version of this game may have problems beating out a PC with a 6600 GT, which shouldn't happen at all. Sorry for my little rant. Nothing against the game since it sounds like a ton of fun and might spark the move towards more RTS games on consoles (a good thing since I like RTS games). I think the game shipped out today and should be in stores tomorrow (if it isn't there today). BTW, regarding Tekken PSP, the game just came out in Japan recently. From all indications, it seems to be an awesome game. Some people are saying it is a perfect port, and definitely the best portable fighting game (although is that saying much?). The load times are really short too. Should be interesting to see what the US reviewers think of it.
Prey (PC, 360) http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/prey/review.html?sid=6153775 7.5 at Gamespot, 82%-84% at Gamerankings. Chromehounds (360) http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/chromehounds/review.html?sid=6154008 7.9 at Gamespot, 68% at Gamerankings. One game I didn't preview that is available now: MTX Mototrax (PSP) http://www.gamespot.com/psp/driving/mtxmototrax/review.html?sid=6153930 7.6 at Gamespot, ~74% at Gamerankings. BTW, I think Def Jam PSP has been delayed to September.
I can't find the NCAA football demo thread, so I'll post it here. Anybody come away a little bit disappointed? The controls felt a little jerky but most of all I was unimpressed with the graphics, it didn't look realistic enough or seem xbox360-worthy. Lots of jaggies in the stadium and the players were ok but nothing to write home about.
I was worried that the XBox 360 version of NCAA 07 was going to be a disappointment, and from reviews it seems my fear was right. I think what happened is that the developers had to devote their time equally between the regular and 360 versions, so the 360 version is under developed somewhat. Especially in terms of features. Which is why I'm going with the regular title.
EA probably has enough people so that they can devote 10-20 people (or more...not sure what their current numbers are like...probably much more) just to the 360 version; I think there is supposed to be a team devoted to practically each version of Madden 07 (PS3, 360, Wii, etc.). There really should be no excuses for the cutting of features in the 360/next-gen versions of these games...but since I don't want to start another rant, I'll just keep it at that.
For anyone interested I called Fry's in Austin today They re going to be selling NCAA 07 for $29.99 for the PS2 platform I didn't ask for any other platform I'll be jamming it at 8:30 tommorrow morning
I've seen trailers for NCAA '07 and Madden '07 in theaters recently, and I have to say I came away unimpressed with the graphcis, especially Madden.
Who is the guy that does the rosters for NCAA? I know his last name starts with an L. Lintner or something like that?
Wow, who would have thought that after obtaining a monopoly on the football game market and removing the competition, the products would suffer? Hard to predict it
I was very disapointed in LOTR battle for middle earth 2 on the pc. I loved the BFME 1. but the normal campaign in BFME 2 is pathetic. The only nice thing is the war of the ring campaign(not sure if the name is ok). but if i want to play a game like that i will play Rome:total war
fisher i posted a thread about it. i actually like it. the graphix were good enough to me. just go play xbox1 and youll notice the big difference. the game play was good too.
i don't think you should have to compare it to xbox though, I think the bar should be higher. I only have six 360 games: Kameo, PGR3, FIFA World Cup, Perfect Dark, Fight Night, and Hitman - of those, Kameo, PGR3, Perfect Dark, and Fight Night Round 3 look truly "next gen". Hitman looks like a souped up xbox game, though it's still a pretty fun game. I think the NCAA demo looks more like souped up xbox than like Fight Night, which is very impressive graphially.
