From Darius Washington Jr's offical website

Darius Washington's name may not have been called on draft night but he is determined to make it in the NBA as a free agent. He is headed into summer camps with the Houston Rockets and is motivated to prove himself to the coach and staff.

I like this signing. He could be a solid 3rd string PG. He has a good stroke. He is only 20 years old but still has a lot to learn even though he a lot of good skills. Decision making must improve.

I like this too, he was one of my favorite players at Memphis.

Unfortunately, I don't think he has enough size to play for us, and is way to turnover-prone. But I'll be watching him, hopefully he'll surprise some people and we can sign him

Interesting. Washington could fill that 3rd PG role incase Spanoullis cannot come over. Really needs to improve his decision making like you said.

I think he is one of those players whose game is better suited for the NBA than college. At Memphis, Calpari didn't like playing his players for a long time. Carney only had 27.2 mpg, Washington only 26.5 mpg. There is doubt he has NBA skills but I don't know he has a NBA mind yet.

Pittsnoogle has agreed to play with the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavs summer leagues. Gansey is still undecided and Rockets are a team he is considering. His college coach and JVG are good friends.

he's a solid scorer and can create shots for himself and others well, but makes poor decisions. should have stayed in school to improve his skills and jumper, but he's a nice summer league addition. i think he'll have a hard time making the team though.

We should try out (6-2)Allan Ray or (6-5)Rashad Anderson they can both hit the 3

    He has some upside potential.

His playing reminds me a lot of M.Williams.

Hasn't the Rockets management rendered the Summer Leagues (for us, anyway) of absolutely zero significance? Seriously, why are the Rockets even participating in the summer leagues this year? Are they contractually obligated?

If Rudy Gay couldn't help this club this year, you think they give a rat's ### about some undrafted rookie?

Their actions and comments have made it impossible to generate any excitement about the summer leagues, rookie signings, V-Span, et. al.

Nice going, Rockets. I hope to God you have a banner year in the free agent market.

Actually with all the holes we need to fill, summer league is more important than ever to find out if someone is worthy of an invite to training camp.

If only we could get VSpan over here for the summer leagues.

Hey, MemphisX, on a totally unrelated note, in your estimation who's the better player to have at SF, Shane Battier, or James Posey(03-04 version)?

It looks like JP might be opting out of his deal, and I'm just getting more and more frustrated.

Very talented kid. Came out way too early, but I'm shocked he wasn't drafted. A good young pg prospect for absolutely nothing. I like it.

Actually, I'm not too high on Washington... We can just turn to JLIII for a backup PG, but I do love Gansey though... Go get him CD!!! He's a steal! :D ;)

You have to read Draft Express bio on him...........

    D. Washington

    They have for him:

Best Case Scenario ---------- Chauncey Billups

    Worst Case Scenario ------------ Rafer Alston :p :p :p
