Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you your Houston Knicks - with less money to spend.

What makes the Knicks "Knicks"? Besides mind-boggling stupidity in spending money, it's the short-sightedness. It's the tendency to patch pieces rather than build a team. The excuse for the Knicks is that they can not afford to rebuild, and they will always "try to win now" - but ultimately they have to settle for mediocre (see the JVG years Knicks), or disaster (pretty much every year recently). The lack to patience, the lack of strategy, the lack of sense in dealings, are all trademarks of a "knicks".

And now your Houston Rockets have subscribed on those trademarks, and successfully morphed into Houston Knicks. Congratulations.

Not sure how much control CD has on these decisions, I do believe this move has a lot to do with JVG having only one year on his contract, and he needs to get some wins now.

HEY HEY HEY... DO NOT EVER... E>V>E>R Compare your Rockets with my Knicks.. My New York Stinks are the WORST FRANCHISE in SPORTS HISTORY... And DAMN Proud of them at that...

What other team could have such superstars in the last 30 years as:

Jarrod Mustaf, Fred "Superman" Weis, and the best point guard to never play.. Milos Vujanic!!!!

You all KNOW you want to walk around Houston with a ROLANDO BLACKMAN errr... RENALDO BALKMAN (WHO!?!?) JERSEY, just so you can get beat down and laughed at like your walking with a diaper on your head...

We are the BEST and I mean BEST 20 Win team Ever! Im hoping this year we can win 17 Games so the $2000 tickets will be even more valuable next year!!! James Dolan is the greatest owner since Art Modell!!!

    ...snfff.... (starts to cry)...

Where is Charles Oakley and John Starks when u need em.... (sniff...) Patrick, Come home....

Oh BTW... Well give you guys Jerome James for TMac's Jock, and Yao's Sweat Towel... Expect Change back tho.

What an naive, basketball ignorant, pre draft hype hypnotised post. Lets see, how are our Rockets different than Team Titanic.

Knicks sign players who are all me, some offensive skills, and no defense. Massive contracts for massive cancers. Rockets sign one of the all time team players, who has downplayed his offensive skills for team chemestry. THE BEST SMALL FOWARD DEFENDER in the NBA, according to 82games.com. One of the best teamates, team players, team defenders, in the NBA. Good shooting percentage. Very high basketball IQ. Will actually understand JVG and remember plays when the game reusmes.

Rockets building a championship contending caliber team, Knicks well on their way to making Isiah Thomas the highest paid con manin history.

Battier is an almost perfect NBA player. Great and smart moce by the Rocks.

we are not Knick clones but we are sacrificing our future to win a few extra games now.

How many games will Shane help us win? 2 maybe three more than Gay?

Is that worth trading away potential all star talent?

When Yao / Tmac are healthy we are a 50+ win team how much would Shane help? a couple more wins?

    But what if?

Gay is ready to play now?
Earns a starting spot next to Tmac can you imagine having to athletic wing plays like Gay / Tmac on the perimeter?
Becomes our third scoring option? If he can hit a few open shots he can average at least 10 ppg.

I would like Shane more if he was quick but he is not. He really wanted someone how could guard opposing SG's and stay in front of their man. Shane cant do that.

truer words have never been spoken. this is exactly what happened in this draft. novak was a great pickup and will now become the rockets best shooter. notice how i didnt say "our" best shooter. i have denounced the texans for the bush debacle, the astros just keep pushing me, couldnt care less about the 1876 or dynamo or whatever their politically correct name is now, and who cares about the wnba. i think the rockets may be about to ruin their place in my heart as well. one more stupid houston pro sports draft and i will completely denounce this city and more to dallas. word

u posted this at 11.45, i didnt know that people drank that early in the day. humm... well anyway i wouldnt say battier downplayed his offensive skills, more like he lacks those skills. i also believe that if you are sober, you dont understand the marketing side of sports. what player would have brought the rockets more revenue? not battier. gay would have brought fans to the games, more merchandise sold, and brought an overall excitement to team worthless, but guess what, lets trade rudy gay for a box of donuts, im sure that a box of donuts would get me to the game quicker than see battier out there

jvg needs to realize that his style doesnt work, this isnt a knicks team, yao isnt ewing, tracy isnt sprewell or allen houston, and this is a new age NBA. you gotta play at least a mid tempo game, san antonio plays fast with their guards so that balances things out, they still score 95 ppg. van idiot needs to learn that if he keeps forcing players to adapt to him, his team will eventually become the larry brown knicks, i mean y do we get stro if we're not gonna play him by his style, and im pretty sure t-mac is pissed somwhere right now, van r****d relies to much on t-mac, one man can only do so much,

I think the backcourt of GAY HEAD would have attracted too many Comets fans the the games, and our management didn't want that.

    *BINGO!*

That is *exactly* what it is
This has been the same since the 1st championship
Drexler was a quick fix. . it work
Barkley was a quick fix. . it didn't work
Pippen was a quick fix. . it didn't work
Francis was a quick fix. . it didn't work
    T-mac is a quick fix. . it didn't work

    WINNING TAKES TIME

    Things have to be Built
I guess one reason I appreciate the Francis Era was
that we were building again . . not at the rate we all liked
but building. . the peices were coming to gether
    then
BOOM we pulled another quick fix which set us back a lil bit
    in chemistry and role players
    injuries hurt this year
    and
now we throw Battier as a quick fix
over the Gay building a team ideal

I agree... got to love Tmac and all... for coming over and seeing all along what we all are now just seeing in Yao... but when the Rox Drafted Yao...

they should have been building a Championship team... FROM the draft or trades.... for young players with potential... worst case scenario is you can always trade on potential...

alot better than old slow overpaid and multi year contract players we have now...

like others have said Battier is a good player but the Rox paid too high of a price for him...

sure Gay could be a bust or role player off the bench...but its a chance the Rox have to take... if they want to make it to the next level..

with the way things are looking now... we dont have the players too trade or the money to get the talent neccesary to win a championship...

I think most know but just wont admit... the only way were going to win the champinship now is either trade Yao of Tmac... or luck out in the draft and get a diamond in the rough... like a Tony Parker or a Steve Nash....

all I know is this year it aint going to happen... since we chose the sure thing role player option in Battier
